I don't know how things have changed since then (lol post from 2015) but this was the patch I originally used to get it working. If memory serves, Quick Saves still don't work, but normal ones do...

Search NSUI beta 26 in the google, it supports almost save types of GBA VC.

Like @noctis90210 said, use the beta 26 of NSUI. It just injects GBA games properly without dealing with save types.

Yes, use NSUI to make the inject. It's on the 3dshacks subreddit.
