Hacking Luma3DS - Noob-proof 3DS Custom Firmware

Hey Guys , it's been a couple of months since I touched my 2DS and I had homebrew through soundhax with Luma on 11.3 (Arm9loader)

I just updated today from A9LH to B9S.

Is there anything else I need to do to make sure I have all the latest updates? Is it safe to update to 11.4 and use online game features (pokemon as an example)?

B9S 1.2 and Luma 8.1 are working pretty well for me with the Arm 11 error reporting off. My system is stable and every game I toss at it is working fine. Even Gateway, though I'm using it less right now.

Is there a comprehensive list of what software is still having trouble? I'm seeing a lot of hate in the forums but it feels like Luma has turned a corner after the rough launch of 8.0

- Dragon Quest Monsters Terry's Wonderland (JAP CIA with English patch) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Puzzle and Dragons; Mario Bros Edition (EUR CIA) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Dragon Quest VIII (EUR CIA with and without JAP voices Patch) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Zelda Majora's mask (EUR Cartridge) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Zelda Minish Cap (EUR CIA from eShop) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Final fantasy Vi Advance (Injected VC CIA) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Dragon Ball Extreme Budokai (EUR CIA) : Stable = not working - Legacy = working
- Cubic Ninja (EUR Cartridge) : Stable = working - Legacy = working
- Zelda Ocarina of Time (EUR Cartridge) : Stable = working - Legacy = working

Not a very good ratio isn't it ? I'm staying with legacy for now, I have very few play time (familly and job first) so i can't waste it with untested stuff, Legacy branch is a clean Luma (without Rosalia but I don't use homebrew much btw so i don't care) working as expected by a end-user like me, who want to first play games with his 3DS so it's ok, as long as legacy is aviable and until I found a game I can't play with it I have no intention to leave it.

I know I've told you already that you need to enable region emulation for those games. TL;DR: Read the damn Luma3DS wiki

Specifically, here are my instructions:

1. Update to the latest Luma3DS version
2. Enable game patching in settings
3. Download Luma Locale Switcher RVC
4. Use it to set the locale to what you want. (For example, ever oasis is a EUR game - therefore, you need to set its locale to EUR <LANG, typically EN> for it to work on non EUR consoles)

I have a EUR Dragon Quest CIA but I don't think it's a undub one...It works though...well at least it seemed so when I opened it for 3s to test if it worked...

i'm a long time lurker and I read the entire thread but that is totally unbelivable...

My i've never seen ppl like you really, instead of taking informations of what is wrong with Luma and try to fix bugs you bash and insult ppl as soon as they not aggree with you !!???

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as Toto, is in fact, GNU/Toto, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Toto.

If you think it's easy then why don't you make a cfw. If not then you can shut your mouth and stop complaining about people offering help.

I havn't had a single arm11 exception on my n3ds... Doesn't seem shit to me. If you don't like luma don't use it or improve it yourself, don't sit behind your keyboard bashing it. Aurora has no obligation towards you or any user and can add whatever she likes. Either take it or leave it.
