Hardware Bricked my Wii U lol

Like an idiot I tried to install Coldboothax over a non-legit ds game and bricked my Wii U. Luckily I can sell all of my games and get enough money for a Switch.
Anyone have a funny story about bricking your Wii U?

The guide wasn't specific enough and I was able to install HaxChi over the non-legit game so I thought it would work. Obviously it didn't.

I didn't really care too much about my Wii U anyways so that's why I was so reckless. I do most of my hacking on my 3DS.

I have no clue, I tried two games, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon which didn't work and then I used Brain Age which did work, it's odd.
