In a recent interview with the gaming news site, Glixel, Kojima said that Death Stranding will not be a horror game, but will feature horror aspects. He stated that Death Stranding will be big, and that it will have humor, as he feels that humor is important in games, but not to the degree that it will affect the World Setting. Kojima explained the following:

I don’t have a dark mindset in particular. Death Stranding is not a horror game. I just wanted to make something that looks very unique, something you haven’t seen before, something with a more artistic slant to it. I’m not pursuing a dark aspect to the game.

I know people are into this style that Kojima likes to put out, but I'd kill for him to make another game like Boktai. From Boktai 1 to Lunar Knights (Boktai DS) the series had come so far, and franchise fatigue never set in for me. Oh Kojima, if ever you decide to take a break from making gritty war dramas with supernatural elements, I hope you'll consider a spiritual successor to Boktai.
