Hacking How dangerous is regionhax installed in sysnand when new firmware version is out?

Question on the title. I did the patch on xml (editing 119 in the value) for region free, but now i am a little worried when the next update (if he exists) is out.

I know it's easy to undo the edits on the XML, but how fucked are us who made the edits on sysnand xml?

nobody can answer that until the update is out. but why not just edit it back to your region and use region free cfw.

Or even brick as Wii U gets confused on what region could it download for update. For example, putting USA updates into EUR console.

Region free will definitely be a problem in terms of updates. Most likely the update may not even begin because according to console an update for its region is not available....

The downside to that, you might not get to play online or you minty might even start banning those with modified systems.

At the moment we can't really say what will happen. It's all guesswork

No even wulfy said this. Updating rednand still updates some number in the seeprom and if that number is different when sysnand boots it will mean a sysnand brick. I know it's a really bad explanation but that's what I got lol

So even though you updated rednand, it still updates a file that is needed for sysnand to boot properly. I'm pretty sure salts solution would have a fix for this but with our current solutions unfortunately updating rednand means a sysnand brick.

What? There should be no problem at all with the sysnand update (other than losing your ability to run hacks). If you did regionhax correctly, you only changed the GAME region, not the system region. Dummies who changed the console region are already bricked (because they don't have the firmware files from that region installed).

-Version in the SEEPROM 5.6.0
-On sysNAND boot:
-sysNAND checks version in the SEEPROM
-SEEPROM contains 5.6.0
-sysNAND contains 5.5.1

Thing is, everything is speculation until an update actually appears so you should take every precaution you can and avoid taking risks that you don't need to.

Regionhax for SysNAND may or may not break something. Updating redNAND may or may not break something. The system update may or may not patch exploits. Take every precaution you can to be sure.
