Nobody knows the reason why youtube is still up. I doubt Nintendo knows why.
Trying to base your guess on rational thinking disregards the fact that Nintendo doesn't use logic in their corporate decision-making. They are the Willy Wonka of game companies. :P

It is realy not difficult to salve tubehax problem (and i hope that nintendo not reading this reply):
They can point the youtube app to nintendo server that use some kind of encription/varification with the app and then redirect to youtube.com (Which will make the app more slower and unusable). And the can always remove the app and embeded it in to the spider web browser

How would they do that when the DNS redirects to smea's server first? Maybe they could update the firmware to whitelist DNS servers, but then the 'escape trick' non-DNS workaround needs to be fixed as well.
The smart fix is to simply update the yt browser to the fixed spider version.

Google is most likely pressuring Nintendo to not take it down. Google works very different from other companies, AND they actually have the power to do this. You see, Google is like, the open software company. Taking it down would A: go against their logic. AND B: go against their Don't be evil motto. Google, actually cares more. They got SUED TO ALL HELL because they freely distributed Broadcom proprietary drivers they ported for Linux. AND GUESS WHAT? They still haven't taken them down. So, Google probably supports smea. Google doesn't support piracy, but they support open software, and this is THE ONLY *LEGAL* way to run open software.

td;lr: Google is holding Nintendo hostage to not take down YouTube because it allows open software to run.

I'm sorry but this doesn't seem likely. Google does not own Nintendo, develop the 3DS system software, or create the 3DS hardware. Nintendo has all its right to prevent you or anyone from running homebrew software on its hardware. Besides, this can possibly seen as a security hole, so why should Nintendo not try to secure its own system, or Google force Nintendo to keep one open?

It doesn't seem like Google to force another company to keep it alive. I won't get into any hocus pocus speculation here but to me it just doesn't seem like Google Inc to do the forcing.

Why does it matter if they haven't removed it, do you want them to?
To Nintendo, it doesn't really matter. Nintendo doesn't want anyone to be using homebrew software on their systems, so seeing it still not removed is somewhat surprising.

This is not saying we want it gone. This is simply wondering why Nintendo has not reacted yet.

People should enjoy it while they can before Nintendo gets butthurt and pulls it.

So Nintendo is a bitch ass pussy?

Yes Nintendo is a bitch ass pussy. But Google is not that evil.... In the end do no evil. Right.

By that logic Android should be allowed exploits cause it will allow hackers. To "improve" the system.

Not possible to protect youtube against it, the only thing google can do is patch the bug upgrading to newest version of the spider.
Actually it would be pretty simple.
Simply force SSL in the app, and hardcode it to only accept YouTube's SSL certificate. Any page other than YouTube would be unable to load.

@Xdqwerty there is health behaviour you can add to your character, then to use a health bar is lil more complicated, google n watch a few tutorial video on it, be too hard to explain here.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the character has the health behavior
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I know you have to create a health and health max variable. Then there is a calculation you use in code to subtract width size of the health bar. Google few vids.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, the "greenflatbar" is one of the preset health bars btw
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea you can use any bar/sprite. It will just change the width. Ok good luck and have fun. I'm off to go shoot some pool at the bar. Talk to you later.

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, why does the health behavior exist if you can just use a variable?
