I imagine there are legal implications to retracting an advertised feature as well.

I am not a lawyer by any stretch, but would there still be an implication to say it's "temporarily unavailable due to technical issues" or words to that effect? I don't think so...

If that's the case, then I'm sure Nintendo is negotiating with Google to get the program fixed, or taken down temporarily until a system update happens.

If Nintendo didn't create YouTube _app_ they are one dumb company. If they had any idea they should have gotten the rights from Google to use the YouTube ecosystem but should have created it them selfs with help from google.

Because Google wouldn't give a fuck if an exploit it found on a thing which is like 0.0000000000000000000000000001% of the who visit YouTube.

Except, you know, (for example) backup, edit, and restore game saves. Nintendo doesn't want you to be messing with your Pokémon games to simply type in your shiny 6IV you've always wanted.

It's still allowing users to run anything that Nintendo doesn't want you to be doing.

Yeah, but powersaves can't truly be stopped, nor can it be used on digital versions of games. Ninjhax 2.1 would allow anyone to do it for free, and to digital games..

Nintendo has been quiet about the whole thing. Maybe they'll try to push a new firmware that tries to prevent modified save files from being implemented on digital games or something. I'm not sure. Either way, I just hope Plague of Shadows is released before a new firmware hits.

Technically WE can't do that yet (if you're on FW 9.3+ that is). Only smea (and whoever else in the inner circle has TDVS).

That's sort of what actually happened. The reason why the youtube app is exploitable is because its using Nintendo's exploitable browser. It's 95% Nintendo's code.

Yes, and it's the same spider/webkit exploit used by gateway in their ultra 3.x firmware for old 3ds.
Google/Nintendo are using the old 4x spider browser for the yt app, and that's why it can be exploited that way.
