Remote Play is a really neat feature in most cases. Most people Primarily game on their Wii U game pad, a basic remote play experience, and a lot of people love to stream the content on their PS4 to their Playstation Vita, which was previously the only device you COULD stream to. Until now that is!

Sony today announced the latest additions to its Xperia smartphone line and confirmed that the devices--the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact--will be the first phones ever to support PlayStation 4 Remote Play.
What that means is you'll be able to play PS4 games directly on your smartphone over a Wi-Fi network. To hold your smartphone in place, Sony will also sell a special GCM10 Game Control Mount, though pricing has not been revealed.

The Aforementioned Smartphones will be releasing sometime this November. Sony has also announced the new Xperia Compact Tablet, which will also support Playstation streaming.
While buying a new phone or tablet just to stream does sound far-fetched, hope can be held onto that soon other smart devices will be enabled to stream PS4 content.

So now you can experience the full potential of PS4 games on a miniature screen with touchscreen-based controls, provided I go with a sony brand of phone? Erm...I think I'll pass.
(I'd be interested if the xperia play was supported, but I guess that would be too easy. Besides...I've lost that phone :( ).

It would make sense on a tablet because that has a reasonable to big screen and usually a stand as well. As such, you can use it as a backup television in case your main one is taken. But on phones it really looks like technology for technology sake.

No idea what gave you that idea, I haven't had a single issue with Remote Play...ever.

This is interesting news. Since the phone/tablet will be running Android, we might be able to get PS4 Remote Play working on non-Xperia devices as well, similar to the Limelight app for NVidia Shield Streaming on non-Shield devices.

Wish they would make a Xperia Play 2 with PS4 Remote Play instead! :O Loved my old Xperia Play, but had to upgrade to S3 since it got so slow and outdated compared to new phones. :(
