Lets face it, GBA > DS, 3DS, PSP, Vita. Ever since Nintendo put GBA games on the Wii U eShop I got infected by a GBA virus type of thing. I felt the urge to play some GBA greats again and I was thinking how to play them. I have several options but I'm not sure. What do you think is the best way to play GBA games today?

Lets face it, GBA > DS
No.

Still an ok handheld, but no.

Original GBA Hell no, under any circumstance. I doubt you live right next to the sun.
Original GBA with AGS-101 screen (backlit) Only if you like AA batteries and figure a way to protect the screen from the scratches
GBA SP Only with the 101 screen thing, and only if you plan to play outside or "on-the-go" a lot
GB Micro Its only strong pro is the portability. I don't know why, but it's a whole different story bewteen a micro and a sp in your pocket. Cons: everything else. I use it only because I'm weird
NDS lite (no emulation) Are you going to play DS games too?
NDS/DSi/3DS using emulation LOL
PSP Are you going to play PSP games too?
PS Vita LOL
Wii U LOL

Pick your poison. Mine is DSL (if you want to play DS games too) or the GBA with AGS-101.

Original GBA with a backlight-mod and a dust and scratch free screen. Or if you want it on a big TV screen: Gamecube with attached GameBoy-Player.

Exactly the same way like you played em yesterday.
And the day before that.
And the day before that.

Honestly, I prefer the original GBA.
Best way to play it would be the DSLite no emulation or PSP.
PSVita has the same compatibility so unless yours is hacked and you want it to stay hacked then sure.

I'd invest in a EZ-4 the least if you feel like pirating (if you opt for DSLite no emulation)
Or, build up a nice collection of awesome GBA games c:

Only if you like AA batteries

Hell yeah, i DO! All internal batteries will die someday, my PSP Go for example, will be useless in a few years. Go ahead an try to replace them :rofl2:

For my backlight modded GBA, i use 2700 mAh recharable batteries - WONDERFUL. The GBA runs for about 6 hours with it.

Really? Because VBA's visual filters, magnification, ability to use any controller I like, rapid fire, slowdown/speedup, savestates, save management, easy cheats, options for hacks, audio filters (if not outright improvements), screengrabs/videograbs/audiograbs, hacking options and options for internet multiplayer make a pretty compelling case from where I sit.

Pretty much this. No more need for 2 games and 2 gbas to play something.

Stop hijacking my poll whoever did that. I didn't include the GB Player because it isn't portable and crap. PC emulators aren't portable either and don't count. If you want a bitch about it you should have included all the options there is, smartphones, dingo, pandora, nvidia shield etc.

I'd say emulator so you can play it on a bigger screen but the GBA SP is nice too.
The GB Micro would be a better option were it not for the fact that the screen on it is so small. It's a bit too small for my liking and would scratch easily.

Classic GBA with 101 screen for the nostalgia feels, GBA SP for less battery eating/charging.
The DS is the best way, since it gives you GBA + DS, but since "GBA > DS" to you, I don't think you would care about that, also no GB backwards compatibility.
Emulation is good too, but since you ranted about it, you only have 2 real options there.
