  • GBmicro using an original cart
  • GBA with ITA screen mod using an EZ-Flash IV
  • DS Lite using a CycloDS Evolution with EZ-Flash 3in1 in slot 2
  • DSi running GBARunner2 hypervisor
  • 2DS running open_agb_firm hypervisor
  • New 3DS running open_agb_firm hypervisor

I could in theory have reflashed my Flash2Advance Ultra and booted the game on a stock GBA SP too but that would require messing around with a Windows XP VM.

And which one do I choose to actually play the game on? Why the GBA of course. Still the best in the hand, with the best dpad.

As a fairly recent 3DS adopter, I am genuinely amazed at how good the non-integer hardware scaling is on the 3DS screen - both for GBA and DS games. People complain about it but I think it really is good. I actually didn't realise DS content was even being scaled until I read about it on here. Even fine text looks perfectly well drawn, where you would ordinarily expect it to get mangled by a non-integer upscale. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's good enough that it doesn't spoil the experience.

Definitely would also choose the GBA if I had a nice screen mod like that. Good call.
I'm also a huge BC fan and love that there are so many options for enjoying great games from the GBA and NDS lines especially.
