Are Xbox fans that desperate for exclusive games?

Apparently so: http://forums.xbox.com/xbox_forums/general_discussion/f/341/t/1680160.aspx

I don't recall seeing PlayStation or Nintendo gamers asking for Xbox exclusives but that's probably they have nothing worthwhile playing, minus a very few exclusives (not the popular ones) so it figures.

Here's my favourite Xbox games, so yeah Xbox actually does really have exclusives:

- Splinter Cell: Conviction (Xbox 360)
- Dead or Alive Ultimate (Original Xbox)
- Dead or Alive 4 (Xbox 360)
- Rumble Roses XX (Xbox 360)
- Conker: Live & Reloaded (Original Xbox)
- Viva Piñata (Xbox 360)
- Gears of War 1 (Xbox 360)
- Forza 1 (Original Xbox)
- Naruto: Rise of a Ninja (Xbox 360)
- Naruto: The Broken Bond (Xbox 360)
- Ridge Racer 6 (Xbox 360)
- Too Human (Xbox 360)
- Blue Dragon (Xbox 360)
- Halo: Reach (Xbox 360)
- Halo 1 (Original Xbox)
- Dragon Ball Z For Kinect (Xbox 360)
- DOOM 3 (Original Xbox)

Erm...why on earth would a playstation/nintendo gamer ask for xbox exclusives?

If you want to, I can humor you and demand that certain shovelware-quality titles remain xbox exclusive as to not lower the overall quality of games on my preferred system, but to be honest I already know how not to buy games I don't like.

Also...I don't think those guys want MS to buy nintendo...they just want some of their IP's on their console (which is a pretty reasonable, albeit unlikely, request). So rather than exclusives, they want the opposite (LESS exclusives).

Xbox actually has SOME exclusives and yet you named all the shovelware bullshit and none of the good ones.

This thread was a fail even without that fact. Now it's just double fail.

Nintendo has a really good history of delivering the best exclusives, and I think with the PS3, Sony really started establishing the same sort of reputation, and since they only have one really successful franchise, Sony also got a good reputation of trying to create new gaming franchises, whereas Nintendo has to spend most of its effort working within the confines of its many highly successful series.

Microsoft, on the other hand, has Halo, and the most groundbreaking one (the first) was not even an exclusive. I see the appeal of the Sony and Nintendo consoles (they have some great games you cannot get elsehwere). I see little appeal to the Xbox. Virtually all its best games you can get elsewhere. What is the point?

Some of these comments in that thread are pretty funny, for example:

"Well it would suit MS after all Nintendo have released a poor console, the Wii U and MS have released a poor console the Xbox One. Also the only gamers Nintendo cater too are Casual gamers, just like MS. It would be the perfect relationship."

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol

I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
