i am wanting to see just flat 2D Case or game covers for the Snes9x GX, FCE Ultra GX, Genesis Plus GX, and Visual Boy Advance GX games on the side of the list
i am on....
Snes9x GX 4.3.2
FCE Ultra GX 3.3.4
Genesis Plus GX 1.7.4
Visual Boy Advance GX 2.2.8

i have no idea where to place the covers, how to get them to show, what folder needs to be made and so-on

To use flat covers in snes9xgx, fceugx, and vbagx, you need to have one of the modded apps put together by wiimpathy, none of which are up-to-date with the official versions, but are available here, with some more info.

The only way to use covers with genplusgx is to modify the source and compile your own version. There is no publicly released cover mod.

Lol etheboss u had me cracking up but yea u pretty much summed up how I felt.

AACThaKid yea I came off as being harsh because the way u worded your post, it came off as if u didn't read or put much effort into the covers issue since it was extremely vague. so my apologies, I was going to provide u the link to wiimpathy's mods however Mastershoes ninja'd me on that so hope all goes well.

mastershoes I noticed the post with all the 2D covers has no info on how or where to get/use the mods so that 2D covers can be used with the GX line of emulators. Any chance the link u provided earlier with a brief description could be added? That way those who want to use 2D covers w/o WiiFlow will also be fully informed and have everything they'll need to get that setup done.

i like to read and sometimes re-read what ever guide i am following, sometimes i will read it 3-5 times before i start work on something, just to make sure i am not gonna mess up my System, harddrive or anything like that as i do not have money to replace them at all lol, and if there are thing i do not understand or are not touched on..... i post and ask, sometimes i just need it to be explained in another way(i am just a little slow some days), other times its something that is not explained, or has had a history of issues

again thank you

and yeah i feel the link, and info that was provided to me should be in the main post as it will help out alot, if ever needed i can upload the files to my mediafire aswell, i mainly use it for my music

Actually my good man, it is included in the 2nd post with those covers. Maybe i should make it a little more obvious? It's the very first thing in the spoiler "Notes about cover sizes". I suppose i could expand on that a little, lol. I haven't paid attention to the 2nd post since EmuFlow became a reality.

Edit: Made some changes to the 2nd post. I removed the spoiler, and changed some of the information. I think it should be clearer now... opinions? AACThaKid and MassiveRican ?

Oh shoot I must have missed the original notes, odd cuz I had opened that spoiler

Oh well, thanks for the changes, it's an easier find and right on the money with the info ^_^

I remember setting up all those 2D cover mods, had to rename many things, it was time consuming, only to never look back since emuflow has been a available lol.

To make things clear, you had started the unofficial GG cover set on your mediafire account. I did use some of your materials, but only a few. And what I did use I had to spend time cleaning up. Bro, I hate to tell you this in the OP, but your covers were so bad that they really needed to be rebuilt from the ground up and I had to find other materials elsewhere. Look at your covers then look at mine and tell me if there is anything that you actually did. If anything, I should be the one offended that you would lash out to MS when you didn't do nothing while I stayed up countless nights spending hours upon hours painting the spines and other small details to the covers. So lets just not go there and enjoy these great covers. I plan on an update pack to be released soon.

im really offended that i got no credit in this at all thanks

I don't know what to tell ya, I wasn't trying to offend you.

But i just took yet another look through your set after your complaint, and really, it looks like everything has been completely redone. New art, new template, new spines, new pants, new shoes. Am I wrong?

side-note: how hard would it be to include this kind of thing into the new releases? of the GX stuff, i have no idea how to but if its possible for me i would like to try
For snes9x-gx, there have been very few changes since 4.3.1 except a GC pad fix as you can see here. So it's just 2 copy/paste and compile. Here's how to start:

- Download devkitPPC. Read the instructions and install.
- Extract Snes9xGX 4.3.1 Cover v1.zip on your computer. The source code is in the src folder.
- Launch Programmer's Notepad that have been installed with devkitPPC if you have Windows.
- Open the Makefile.wii in src folder. Click 'Tools', 'make' in order to compile.
- If all is well, you should see a 'return 0' message in the output window.
- Now, you can try to copy the changes from the official source to the cover mod.
- Go here and click on what's after 4.3.1 (r718). You see the file that's been modified when you click 'expand all' (it's input.cpp).
- The '-' means the lines have been deleted or modified and '+' means added.
- Open input.cpp in your src folder, write the changes according to what you see in the googlecode and save your file.
- Click 'Tools', 'make' once again to compile. If 'return 0', it's the end of the story!

For fceu-gx and vba-gx, apparently that's harder. The source needs to be modified to compile with the latest libraries. A guy contacted me last year cause he wanted to update the mods. He had a bit of general programming experience (well, no C). Since it wasn't only copy/paste job he asked some questions and tried to do it. Unfortunately, he gave up a few days later. So I ended up modifying that bloody snes mod myself.

Since the 3 gx emu shares these same portion of code, you just have to look at the snes mod code to update the 2 others. If you have some questions, I can try to help. But, this time I won't do all the work. First, because I don't care much about the last updates and essentially use Wiiflow now. Secondly, I have other little unfinished projects, the remaining 'wiiflow emulators plugins' among others.

^^ I know u mean well and want to get involved. If u have the time, try to get better at editing and duplicating what TOW420 and MS do, obviously there's a learning curve and other things u might have to spend time on but that's the fun part, google around and ask questions you'll get it down and be more involved ;)

It's cool man. If it helps, I didn't obtain my cover making skillz overnight. In fact, I've been doing this for over a year now and I admit I still got areas that I need to iron out. Luckly I found MS when I did and since then he has helped me and guided me to the right path to making more and improved covers even to this day. Just hang in there, keep your head up, and keep trying and no matter what, don't give up or get discouraged so easily or else it will show in the covers.

the Snes9xGX seems really easy to do, but as for the other 2 it does seem harder, anyways if i get any time i will try, thanks for the info

Just droppin' a line to let you know i ain't sleepin'... just working on a project that's a pain in the ass!

Re-doing the ScummVM set 100%. The currents set.... some of it is the very first set i did when i started, some of it is one of the first sets mike1 ever made, some are from tetsuo, and some are random dvd covers. Needless to say, I'm not all that thrilled with it (it's a flippin' mess! :P ) and have been working hard the last couple weeks to try and improve it greatly. Besides that, it will also have quite a few new covers, as i've added a bunch of new working games to my set. :) Thankyou Wiimpathy for the awesome updated plugin with tons of new compatible games!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, here's a sneek peek of a WIP, compared to the current ones. This one's taking a bit of time, i'm about halfway done, so hopefully i'll have something together in a week or two.
