Haha Abz rolls with nothing but custom default emu covers on his setup lol :P I have new Game Gear and SG-1000 covers to setup, I'll give your app a try and if it works as intended I'll hate u for not making it sooner, and saving me hours of my lifetime XD j/k I'll report back with my finding tonight. ;)

I already hate myself for not making it sooner. I knew wiiflow 3 years ago and the other emulators sooner than that. I was always considering doing it but then disregarded it since I didn't see the demand that high, but then someone asked why he cant download the covers from wiiflow via gametdb. I decided fudge it. I have some pretty good experience with java so why not. I may need to use it too.

what if the rom folder has other roms besides the ones there are covers for in the covers folder? Will it just go in order or actually use MD5 or something to verify correct rom and name cover accordingly?

I have been making some revisions. if the rom folder has a rom file that isnt the kind for the image folder, it will tell you the incomplete transfer has that rom in the log. it wont interrupt the program though, just change the image directory and output directory if you want. Not sure if this is how other loaders use it but wiiflow has the covers like "game.gba.png".

when coptying the covers over, it will check if theres already a cover there. if there isn't it will copy there and will rename to "game.*rom extension*.png" from what ever rom extension it matched with. so if the covers were all in one folder, it should work.

soupa Any plans for a linux version?

I can try. I've been told I need to work on one that will work on mac and linux. I will post the program on my site and will give some updates. As of right now I'm just a java student who does some good research. I'll look into how to convert it.
my site is tspiller.webs.com

Thanks, I will surely try it. Take your time :)

man i feel like an idiot at times. this program will work for linux. what I usually have is an executable jar and then convert it to exe for pretty much the feeling of an exe file but there's not really any important reason to have it to be an exe except customization of the icon.
Here is the program in jar form. I made some changes in it too.

Soupaman66 just finished using your latest Cover 2 Rom, I had 101 Roms and 99 Covers the output was 80 covers in a different output folder which I selected. Let me know what other info you might need to debug or if it's user error.

You can PM me I'll give you step by step what I did if it helps.

EDIT: I see if the name of the cover differs from the name of the rom, it doesn't seem to pick it up. For instance
Code:
Rom = Ariel -The Little Mermaid.gg
Cover = Ariel the Little Mermaid.png
The cover was not renamed and there was not output to designated folder.

A few other examples:
Code:
Rom = Caesar's Palace.gg
Cover = Caesars Palace.png

Rom = Coca Cola Kid.gg
Cover = Coca-Cola Kid.png

Rom = Ecco - The Tides of Time.gg
Cover = Ecco II - The Tides of Time.png

So it was user error after all.

yeah. that's a user name error. roms/covers can be named many things and be correct. Mega Man is also named megaman or mega man. the loaders need each character of the roms and covers to be the same. I can work on a fix for the special characters - and '. However things like II would probably need to be renamed manually(to not be mistaken like mortal kombat and mortal kombat II). I'll make the fix and make sure the browsing directory isn't erased so you can don't have to browse again. just rename and press start. Eventually I think I'll have a popup that will ask "did you mean" with a list of the closest possible matches, but that will take a bit of time.
