Some dumbass threatened the entire school with a bomb call this tuesday.
You never really think stuff like this will happen to you...

http://www.wsoctv.com/news/news/local/student-arrested-connection-bomb-threat-school/nXWxs/
Kid has pics on Facebook holding an AK, and all sorts of other crap.

So basically this is how everything went down.
I walk into school at about 8:30ish (I dont have a first period because im a senior and i got all my credits done early) and notice alot of Police cars at the school. I didnt think to much of it, i thought maybe there was an assembly or something.
So I walk into the counselors office to sign in, and next thing I know, these teachers come swarming in and say, "you need to follow these students outside and evacuate the building immediately."
At this point im just like... Ok...
So Im all calm, following kids outside as teachers handle the situation really shitty (they're causing some kids to panic, not explaining anything, some teachers were even panicking themselves)
And we all get evacuated to the stadium where football games are held.
About an Hour later, we all just get trucked back inside, no explanation, and apparently everything is all good...
Dafuq?
At about 12:40, I left for the day (I only have 2 classes, cuz again, credits taken care of) And i go home, sit on the couch, turn on the news, and BAM, theres a second evacuation.
Apparently they found something that time. But it turned out to be harmless what ever it was... again, no explanations or anything.
All in all, the whole situation was just one giant Mindfuck. The teachers were idiots in the way they handled things, and the entire situation was just stupid. Im very glad no one was harmed~

Aren't bomb threats a typical thing to happen at least once or twice in a lifetime?
I remember last bomb threat we had, like 10 of us went to my friends house across the street and I systemically maimed all of them at Soul Calibur IV.

Had another one when I was in 12th grade as well. Though usually kids just pull the fire alarm cuz it's easier...granted it doesn't cause nearly as much trouble.

Also that kid looks like he'd call in a bomb threat...or shoot up the school. Lordy.

It's always good that no one was actually hurt, and at least there was an actual reason for your evacuation. Twice my freshman year of high school we had to evacuate to the nearby elementary for supposed bomb threats, but there was never anything found or anyone blamed, or even any explanation given. Allegedly (and I'll mantain that this is true simply because no one ever heard anything to the contrary), the second time was simply because someone saw BOM scratched into the walls of one of the bathroom stalls.

Still doesn't top the time 4chan managed to shut down our college for pretty much an entire day, though.

Bomb threats are unfortunately pretty common. Kid's realize that, hey, if you don't want to take that test or turn in that paper, just call in a bomb threat.

Of course, they then get their asses handed to them by the school once they're caught. People are surprisingly touchy about that sort of thing.

Curiosity strikes me, as I also live in Michigan and don't remember hearing about this, which college?

As for the bomb threat thing, that's pretty dumb. Not really something I would care about if it happened at my school, but nonetheless I suppose it's a bit scary.

wtf? Typical? Where do you live? :wtf:

Canada. But based on guild mates and past friends, bomb threats came up sometimes and we'd share what happened when our school had one. Canada, US, UK peeps. Seemed pretty widespread, i figured everyone experienced at least one at some point. Never real ones, it's always a moron kid trying to get out of that math test he ddidn't study for.

Northern Michigan University; it was a couple years back and other than local news I didn't see much other than an article somewhere on CNN's website. Since I don't feel like typing the whole thing out again I'll just copy/paste what I wrote on another forum. I don't know if there were ever any updates on the threat or culprit, but I'm inclined to believe the whole thing was dropped. Funny thing is this whole thing only happened like a week before President Obama visited.
So at about 8:30 AM the school sends out an emergency message saying that the entire campus was closed off for the day due to a 'serious threat' received by the school, and that all classes are cancelled. I try and check the news to see what's going on, and there's nothing.

After a couple hours one news station manages to get stuff posted on their Facebook, basically saying that the school had been tipped off by a caller about a threatening blog post saying something about a shooting 'worse than Virginia Tech', but they couldn't find a link to said blog, it's quite possible that the post was deleted. Not entirely unusual, there's a lot of crazies who have obscure blogs, we're just lucky that someone actually did read it. By now most schools in the area are releasing their students, and the general hospital is in full-on emergency lookout mode.

An hour later, we're being assured that authorities are doing everything they can to secure the campus. This is the first official update we've gotten from the school, and we've heard nothing about suspects or injuries, other than that any rumors of hostage situations are false. The one TV station covering this thing airs a live report at noon, with a reporter on campus and almost no police vehicles in sight.

Between 12:30 and 1:30 the only updates we get are that students can actually get back into the buildings with their keycards, rather than being locked out for the potential shooter to find and kill, and those of us in the first quad can go to the cafeteria in the building. There's talk of someone outside one of the halls being arrested and taken in an unmarked car, but later all that's said is that it's not related to this investigation. By this time we know that the FBI and ATF are also involved.

At 3:30 there's a press conference of some sort, but it's not broadcast live and in the next 45 minutes the only real update we get is that there's a 'person of interest' being investigated, no arrests have been made, the campus is still locked down. Everyone's pretty much figured out that whatever threat there was likely wasn't going to be acted upon in the first place. The press conference also mentioned that the source of the threat was an 'anonymous blog post', and combining this with the fact that no one could find a source link in the first place quite a few students here in the dorms put two and two together and realize exactly what probably happened, and are far from pleased. There's an article on the front page of CNN at this point, although they have even less of an idea of what's going on and still seem to think the threat was called in via phone.

By 8:15 there have been no arrests, no more mention of any persons of interest, and there's an announcement that the FBI and local authorities have deemed that there's no standing or ongoing threat, so therefore there will be classes and an open campus tomorrow.

And of course, by this point a screenshot has started floating around, of what I'm inclined to believe is the origin of this whole ordeal given the timestamp and some of the details the school released.

Yeah guess it's not so common here, we've talked about bomb threats recently too. Did a quick search and seems like there have been a few the past 10 years that involved schools actually. All threats were nothing nothing serious and most involved teens wanting to skip school for the day.
I don't know someone personally who has experienced this though. Fake fire alarms on the other hand...

In any case I think it was a poor decision to not give everyone the day off for a proper investigation.

It's not so much the threat that bothers me, it's the way it was handled.
As a faculty staff member, your job should be to maintain calm and control over your students and reassure them it will be okay.
Instead, there were more teachers panicking, which in turn caused other students to panic.
Not to mention the fact that even after the faculty supposedly searched the entire building, and deemed it safe to go back inside, a student found something in the freaking bathroom.
The only ones that did their job right, we're the on campus police officers, which is a no brainer since they're trained for situations like this. Either way, the staff at my school were NOT in control of the situation at all, which really irked me...

Yo that kid looks like a MAD BALLER.

Real talk - I've sorta had one bomb threat before. When I was in Jr. High, we got evacuated from the school for like an hour right when we got there because someone called in a bomb threat to "Toms River South". The problem is, We have Toms River High School South and Toms River Intermediate South (Jr. High), and the caller never specified, so both schools got evacuated. Mine was fine, and I am assuming that the High School was as well.

When I was in high school we had multiple fires break out though. Once an evacuation fan in the gym had the motor burn out and catch fire, another time some black kid started smoking in the boys room (no joke) and threw the cigarette in the garbage can like a retard. I was in the library for a study hall and when I rushed out I realized I had forgotten my expensive headphones in there. I was very upset until I got back in there and found they were okay.

No shit. He looks like the guy who wakes up in his dark room with windows covered by black blankets. Skulls and crosses all over his room. He puts on his black work boots even though he doesn't have work. Puts his black shorts on that go past his knees and his black shirt with his spiked dog collar. gels his hair so it's covering one eye and half of the other. Black lipstick to represent the darkness inside of him with his cold empty heart.

Sits at the desk and draws skulls and layouts of the school. looks around his class at the first kid he wants to put a bullet in the he...

aight I'm done. I'm bored and don't wanna carry this on anymore.

tl;dr : He looks like a creep.
