Well, shit. Any ounce of truth to this?

...I'm kind of having mixed feeling about this. I mean, I'm worried and excited. It seems 3DS piracy might actually be here now. Question is... what about region lock? Huh? Tell me this can get rid of that and I'm sold.

It isn't.

Oh, okay. Everything's alright in the world again.

Like I said, the only chance of 3DS roms at the moment like a DS flashcart does is with a hybrid DS flash card/rewritable 3DS card that would be monstrously expensive and probably a fair amount larger than a DS cart due to the need for a huge flashable chip and probably an onboard CPU. Because of the high cost and large amount of coding needed to trick the 3DS like this nobody would make it since an actual 3DS hack is being worked on.

Why not just get the frigging games if you still have to keep switching them when you want to play another game. Also considering this is just a bootleg device as Costello said, I'd stay away from it. Regardless of what people may think, there is no way you could justify this as being a homebrew enabler for the 3DS. This is just a way to play pirated games (call them backups if you like). As far as the legality of a flashcart goes, this thing doesn't have even that much of a chance being allowed. Just like counterfeit DS carts or those "2000 in one" carts.
You have to remember that not everybody pirate to keep all their games in one cart (not saying that I disagree with your POV. I have a similar stance but that is beside the point). Check out the "When is piracy ok" thread and you'll see all the arguments for and against.

And I am pretty sure that nobody in their right mind would honestly try to classify this as homebrew. It's piracy through and through. No argument about it.

And oh how I hate those multi-in-1 bootleg crap of a cart. Got burnt back in the day with the GameBoy games and I never touched it ever again.

True. I could have rephrased it a bit better in this way: There is no possibility of trying to convince a federal court or customs people about the nature of the cart if it doesn't have the possibility of even running homebrew. That's pretty much the only possible explanation if the running backups is not considered a legal thing to do (which happens to be quite a few countries even though people may think otherwise.

from what i remember the crown 3ds kit was a 1:1 clone of splinter cell. they did have it actually booting splinter cell but they were unable to get it to run any other roms. this cart probably uses that technology, so its a 1:1 clone of whatever with flash kit stuff built in. so you get a pretty crappy flash kit supported by a hacked version of outdated wood source code, and when you flip the switch you get 1 3ds game that you can never change.

honestly, i don't see the point.

I pirate stuff because I can't be bothered to pay for most of them. I do buy 3DS games though, and have bought a few DS games "worthy" of being paid. LOL.

That's about as generous as I can get. If I had more to burn, yeah, I probably would have paid for more.

Q: Does the Ace3DS PLUS be able to play 3ds games ?
A: No, currently, no flashcart can play 3DS roms.

From the FAQ in the flashcart's webpage. So I guess this really comes with a bootleg 3DS game, unchangeable by any means.

So on the face of it it kinda suggests you get a DS loader and the 3DS baseball game . as theres no suggestion of any choice / options of that feature.

Maybe you can change the game by reflashing the card by a flash kit or, even better, from DS mode, just like actual DS cards already do to update their own firmware.
Maybe it would not very handy, like a 3ds games menu but, for a pirate pov, it would do the dirty job.

That is exactly what I thought was going to happen.
Although I explained why it would be unlikely a cart like that would be made.

That isnt how it works.
No sensible person would buy a 3DS flashcart from a site which cannot even write in English which isnt broken when respected people like neimod say they hacked it without one.

The hardware would be too expensive for reasons I would describe. Too many people would do the research when confronted with the price of a cart with a 4-8GB internal flash and onboard (however basic) CPU and find it is a ripoff. R4 clones are cheap.

Thing is, even when we recommend a cheaper alternative, some of these people will end up with a different clone (because it is even cheaper) and then cry when it messes up or loses support.

This is true... And?
If they do actually do the research for alternatives they will find out that a hack is already in the works.
