I don't know much other than it sounds like YouTube will be reviewing videos. In other words you upload a video, and it could take a few days before videos get posted. If YouTube sees something they don't like, your video doesn't get posted.
This is prob to stop porn.
Is there a lot of porn ending up on youtube these days?
As for "free country"....
Is there a lot of porn ending up on youtube these days?
There's supposedly a lot of porn, mostly softcore, that's uploaded to Youtube all the time.
But really I think this would be more about people uploading content that doesn't belong to them (ie songs, movies, TV shows) than anything else. LPers should be fine, as their content falls under the category of "fair use" (as, IIRC, commentary/reviews are both considered fair use)
I really hope this doesn't happen. This is Censorship, and since Google/Youtube is based in the United States, this violates the first amendment. The Only reason Apple gets away with it is that a LOT less applications submitted to the AppShop rather than youtube. You have the right to voice your opinion and choices. I've already stopped using gmail, and google search, but is there any good alternate to youtube? If not I will be hosting my own content via HTTP/FTP the my own server.
Now my knowledge of constitutional law leaves a bit to be desired but as I understand it the first amendment/bill of rights is between the government and people under the remit of US law (citizens, visitors....). As google is not the government....
The Bill of Rights are the first ten amendments. And they are a promise to the people. England was dictating to the colonies what they could and could not do and so we revolted and formed our own government. And we created the Bill of Rights so no one could ever take them from us. And Google responds to the government, as does any United States business.
