Hacking Wood R4 for Clones

Don't yell at us if it doesn't work.
People have told you Wood won't work on a clone which you have.
You have to use the original firmware and LIVE WITH IT if newer games don't work--unless you can be patient enough to learn how to get YSMenu working.
It is not our responsibility to get your clone working with alternative firmware.

ohhh yeaa u are superior becouse u have a original and i have a clone , don't be a machine! ... all is piracy !!! U are superior if u have a ORIGINAL GAME no a ORIGINAL FLASHCARD!

I am being serious. Does it support SDHC mSD? Because it WILL work on R4SDHC, but only on ordinary mSD cards. My question is a valid one (aka, i am NOT trolling for the heck of post count) and i have read the FAQ but when looking at the source, i have come across this.

Which is a cheap way of disabling SDHC support imo.

You don't understand.
He had created the same or similar topic in several of the NDS forums. And I thought he was CAPS-yelling on purpose.
I was not in any way putting him down.
And I do own a clone. I just don't use it as my primary card anymore.
And aside from all that he thanked me; I haven't been anything but honest with him.

well even if you get it to load its still going to have save issues so your best bet is to try to get ysmenu to work on your card
its actually really easy if you use any one of the these auto builders

That's why woodr4sdhc is compiled with DLDI support.

Thanks for al your help Angel. very much appreciated. i ahve built ys menu using that prebuilder (that was great i was flummoxed before) and am now going to format the chip and add the contents to the root of the card. fingers crossed it has made me a file with TTmenu folder and _DS_MENU.DAT. i presume i just copy this to the fomratted disk and add games to top level as normal? as a backup i have ordered an acecard2i , which it seems is the rolls royce (?)

I don't have a clone exactly like yours (my R4 clone cannot fully run YSMenu) but what you're doing sounds about right. Best of luck on using it while you wait for your Acekard.

Now that it is clear that the card command 0xBD and 0xBE are different in R4 and R4SDHC. So may I have the card command reference for R4SDHC?

The problem are the clones. Just so you know, there is a difference between saying a clone card is a peice of crap opposed to the user using the card is crap. Buying a product and supporting a business that doesn't have your best interest in mind is dumb. Using the clone cards are dumb. recommending clone cards to people to buy is dumb. Selling clone cards is dumb if you aren't the maker. Buy, sell, and support the real deal. They are making and updating firmwares for us all.
