Yes, you will have to take one of your 3DS'es and send it to me. I'll keep it safe for you. :)

In all seriousness, you'll have to update your 2.2 3DS'es to a firmware from 4.1-4.5. You can do it via a ROM with that update with Gateway's firmware 1.0 (IIRC), or use a retail cart that has any of those updates. To see which games have which updates in 'em, check out Pong20302000's website: http://3ds.essh.co/

Any 3DS with firmware 4.1-4.5 will work on Gateway. Happy gaming! :)

If you are on a firmware lower than 4.1 you can't use a rom with Gateway to update because you can even get into Gateway mode. You need a retail game.

So sorry if this was already talked about. I have a 3DS that has a ver 3.x.x firmware on it. Not up to date on the homebrew requirements I connected to wifi and it automatically downloaded the newest firmware. Knowing better I never installed it. So the question is....In order to get it to update to a safe fw version for the GW3DS should I format the 3DS to clear the newest fw download and then use a game to update it to 4.1-4.5? Once that update is Downloaded(not installed) can it be removed from the system. If I do a format do i lose all the 8 bit games Nintendo gave out for free?

So it seems that 95% of the games were on the sd card all except Zelda Four Swords. The persisting update has stopped so this must mean the update was saved to the card. If the update is on the card can I assume doing a physical cartridge fw update is going to be okay now? Or is the update still hiding in system memory? Should I format the 3DS system if given the option to just be safe? I see that the files on the sd card are unreadable . Has a way been found to extract and piece those back together? Possibly, delete the update and retrieve the games to move them back to the system?

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
