Same boat. We need someone with a US disc to rip the .tik from to use with the download from NUS. Same goes for the PAL version, Need a PAL disc for .tik

Data size concerns:

The 3gb is most likely only for physical disc loading only. I believe installing to an external drive may avoid the 3gb instalation and I don't believe it to be an update. Assume it's for compensating for the power required to run the game on older tech when it's technically built for the Switch. I wouldn't worry too much.

It may be required either way but I doubt it will be downloaded information, just data needing to be stored from the disc to assist the loading of the game.
