Everything seems to be working fine for me, installed IOS 202, and streaming movies from my NAS Box via SMB.

Was strange how Mplayer_CE refused to work through SMB and only through FTP. Whereas WiiMC works fine through SMB it also managed to play some files which I had problems with in Mplayer_CE

All together a great first release and I will definitely throwing a few bucks towards donation

Can anyone compile latest rev for use, because there is a change to select audio-trck when pllaying dvd so non-english guys could view films in other languages.
OMG, yes, they did it. I was searching for this feature like crazy yesterday until I realised that it wasn't there. That's what I needed

. Now, if they could fix Subtitles, it would be realy perfect for me.

Btw, @Tantric/Devs: Is translating planned? I would love to translate it to German (and I'm shure other Users would love to translate it too)...
Found it...now translating..

I would love it when playing a video, pressing either plus or minus brings up a small popup menu with settings like Audio stream, subtitles, aspect ratio etc

+1
that would be an awesome feature.

for now i would be happy with no codedumps when i try to play anything with my fat32/ntfs hdd attached. i'm sure that will be the case rather sooner than later.
for a first release this is very polished. i'm really impressed. the navigation is very smooth and good looking.

i'm having high hopes that this will become the best and most professional wii homebrew!
keep up the good work!

Question: As far as I know, libdvdcss is illegal in many countries (or distributing Software that can crack CSS). DVDx contains this lib, which means its distribution is actually illegal, right? WiiMC doesnt work with DVDx, but with IOS202. I wonder if IOS202 contains libdvdcss as well.

Thanks for posting that in the tracker!

For mplayer-ce i could solve the sub problem (with special characters), by adding this to the config (just below slang):
subcp=ISO-8859-1

That for latin american subtitles.

But I couldn't find a way to do that in the current program config. I guess it's just a missing feature.

Well besides getting this to work with my NTSC drive, the other feature I would like added is a faster way to switch between 16:9 to 4:3 and back. Maybe just sort of a full screen, normal screen button on the action bar that shows up.

Can't wait till the USB problem is fixed, as much as MPlayer_Ce has served its purpose to me, it looks so ugly right now compared to WiiMC.

Bummer, same code dump for me as the rest of them. Tried loading USB/SD/DVD/streaming and all had the same error.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem myself, it code dumps when i try to load anything, whether it be on FAT32 or NTFS on my hard drive or my SD card.

EDIT: Problem solved thanks to the No Reload fix found here: http://code.google.com/p/wiimc/downloads/d...No%20Reload.zip

That's NOT a fix. That's just version 1.0.0 that doesn't reload if it crashes. So you can write down the crash info. Mind you I already have plenty of crash info, it's all the same from everyone, and it all points to libntfs. So just be patient please.

AWESOME already. Thank you. One request: play all music in a folder instead of having to tick tracks...

Tick the folder.

Working really good, without my USB HDD. DVD playbac works, but not in fullscreen. SMB works, internet radio works aswell. I even played mkv-movies I can't play flawlessly on mplayer-ce.

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.
  • Veho @ Veho:
There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
