Why is everybody looking at this as if the Wii-U is a PC platform?
It's a entirely different machine, really do you compare your macbook pro, telephone also with random specs?
It;s a whole different platform, therefore it's more important what the developers can do with it.
It's nice for them to have something to work with like this.
Tho by todays standards it's meager to say the least, comparing what pc's can do nowadays...OTHER PLATFORM.
If you put it in a different perspective ( wii u ONLY for gaming) it's spectacular, seeing the timegeist.
But overprices looking at the used hardware.

But also this : http://www.nintendol...h_wii_u_and_3ds

Stop using your Wii's with next gens tv's. Use a good crt and rgb cables.
You won't believe the difference. I'ts like a "HD" wii on those tv's.
Scaling of led, lcd tv's is what makes the Wii look like crap most of the times.
Stretching out 480p signal on 1080p screen, is bound to look awefull.
That counts for any signal lower than the panels native output resolution.
Seems Nintendo catches up, but being late allready when 4K res tv's are common in about 2 years.
Really newer is'nt alway better, tech has to match tech of it's time.

Pushing systems like DS and Wii for 6 years now is a big achievement, seeing tech developes faster that lightning these days.
Shows how a good idea and platforms are the most important.
especially if you want to launch a medium totally different than something every household has in their homes, or in their pockets.

I remember some really old 3D PC games supported software (CPU) rendering as an option. They did not support 1080p as widescreen displays did not exist at the time but they did support 1600x1200, a comparable number of pixels. Of course, that would have been really slow on a CPU of the time, but on a modern CPU it would run just fine.
