Gaming Wii doesn't pick up any of my USBs

I have an HDD that used to work fine. Now, out of the blue, my Wii doesn't pick it up. It has 2 partitions - NTFS and FAT32. I tried using a flash drive that's FAT32 formatted - same thing. I already tried rebuilding MBR. Any ideas?

Make sure it's plugged in the bottom port (the one nearest to the edge)

I used both ports. Still the same.

What the hell, I changed the batteries in my Wiimote and now it works. Weird.
