I'll keep it simple. I cannot get WiiFlow (displays a black screen), CFGUSBLoader (hangs at splash screen), or USBLoaderGX (gets stuck at reinitializing devices) to work. I followed the instructions on wii.hacks.guide. Nintendont functions with no issues whatsoever.

64GB USB Drive (Dual FAT32/NTFS partition)
  • I understand flash drives can be hit or miss but i have used this one before with a different wii and it worked just fine
  • I started with a single FAT32 partition and ran into the same issue, which is why i tried the old method of dual partitioning
  • I have used multiple USB drives in a single partition format and the issue was still present
8GB SD card
  • MBR boot sector
  • tested negative for any kind of corruption (h2testw)

Good morning,

correct syscheck report.

can you test with a fat32 external hard drive (see in your surroundings, neighborhood, family, etc.)?

Are your USB keys from good brands (buy from a professional, or a recommended store)?

Here is a list of USBs I have tried

  • Sandisk Ultra USB 3.0 128 GB (FAT32)
  • Samsung 1TB External SSD (FAT32)
  • Samsung USB 3.1 128 GB (FAT32)
  • PNY 64 GB (FAT32/NTSC dual partition)
I bought the first and third from Amazon, the second from Best Buy, and I have had the fourth one for a long time so I don't remember where I got it; but I've used it before on a Wii a long time ago with the same format and it worked.

I believe them all to be of good quality, but the first one did have some corruption appear during my troubleshooting steps (apps folder became corrupted on two separate occasions), which leads me to believe that there might be an issue with the Wii itself.

For context, this was a time sensitive gift for a family member, so I decided to just remove the USB loaders and leave Nintendont on so they could play Gamecube games at the very least. I no longer have access to the Wii, but I can answer any questions in the event that it would help with diagnosing the issue for future reference.

All of the storage devices I tried were Solid State storage, I was unable to test with a Hard Disk. Could the Wii just be finicky with Solid State storage?

Edit: Good morning to you too
