Hahaha. No good reason? That's a pretty bad argument. That's funny. The R4 may have been a beast awhile back, now it's overrated, and are full of fanboys, or people like you.
I was going to get a R4 when I first discovered about flashkarts. I, too, thought it was the only one available. But then, I heard about the new M3 real (Mind you, this was in November 07.). Then I did some research, and found out that there are a lot of other carts out there. And why didn't I choose the R4? First of all, it had no SDHC support. Don't tell me to "Buy multiple micro sds, idiot". What you may want isn't the same with millions of people out there. SINCE ONE PERSON WANTS 2 GIGS, THEN EVERYONE MUST WANT 2 GIGS TOO. Secondly, There just were cheaper carts out there. Back then, even the M3 real was cheaper than the R4. I didn't care for support, features, etc. I just wanted to play games, and nothing more. Yet, in my research, it pointed out that R4 was at a dying age. It was good while it lasted, but it was time to let go.
And another thing. Let me give you an example. Would you buy a R4 at 39.99, or a better cart, that lets you do more than it for 23 dollars? The answer is pretty obvious isn't it? What? You'd buy a R4?
And is it really hip to attack the R4? No. Only an idiot would say that. That's like saying it's hip to attack the Ipods. I don't like ipods much, because all the other good players get neglected because of it. All my friends believe it's the only mp3 available, and come up with idiotic statements that barely counts as an argument, or even any evidence to prove me wrong. Yet, if I come up with a good reason why there are better players out there, they just ignore me, and say the same thing. Hell, they never even touched a different player, yet, that's what they say. Stupid, if you ask me. Either way, all I'm just trying to do is to prove them, and prove that Ipods are inferior.
Same thing with R4s. Everyone tells me it's the only cart available. I have to explain what a supercard is, etc. And they neglect them still, for the same reason.
