He made a good point.....Cyan said:For people who hate R4/M3 because it exist new card :
Do you hate Snes because Wii can play Snes games ?
Do you hate PS2 because of PS3 do better things ?
Do you hate DVD reader because now there is a Blue-ray reader which can ALSO read DVD ?
Do you hate your mom because your girl friend do more things for you ?
I understand there are new cards now, but I don't understand why you hate older card for what they were.
They were good, they were working, they were and they still are easy to use.
The updates are still quickly available when new games have new protections.
If you hate the R4 because it's expansive for what it does, don't hate the product but hate the company and the sellers !
The product do what it was design to do and still do it perfectly.
Do not hate the product capability, you are misunderstanding who to hate !
I just bought one for a friend because I know what she can use, and what options she can deal with.
later if she is getting better, we will see what to use.

Uh..... I was being sarcastic.....distorted.frequency said:Because people might start getting ideas on how these things work and try their hand at making flashcards of their own? Dunno. Or maybe they just want to feel useful...>_>ojsinnerz said:jan777 said:oh yeah
why cant someone on the r4 team betray them and release the source?
And why didn't the DS-X team, or the EZ-flash team, or the Supercard team, etc teams release the source?

Actually with the dstt you can have the same looking firmware with YsMenu, So you could say the dstt is a r4 with sdhc and a lot cheaper.g4med4d said:I've been using the R4 for about a year now without any problems. Older firmware does not affect me as much and I'll just update it when I remember. Maybe I'm not a 'power-user' but the R4 just suits my needs. No need for fancy GUI or anything else. Slow? Just get use to it. The slowest part of the whole setup is still the user. IMHO![]()
I just bought a second one for a second DS at about $42 shipped. Is that expensive? The DSTT is cheaper than the R4 though. Might have bought the DSTT if I had read the forums a bit deeper but there's so much time to read so many topics.Plus I'll have to get use to a new GUI.![]()

Bottom line is, the R4 works, plain and simple. Also keep in mind that we're all using these flash cards to run ROMs and homebrew, being a little slow cannot be compared to the cost of the ROMs stored in cards. I'm just glad I do not have to open up my DS.![]()
