There is a website where you can download pre encoded dpg files but I'm not sure if I can tell you where to find it. I sometimes watch anime on the DS between classes...

*snip

I use it when the actual movie is a bigger file.

That's the same site that was posted above, then removed by a mod.

I wasn't sure who edited haringtonl's message because your name wasn't on the message, so I just said "a mod."

If I had known it was you, I would've said "it was edited by the leader of the Radioactive Force, so you'd better not post that sh*t!"

On topic:
I think DPG is ideal for YouTube videos because even on a PC they're small. When you "full-screen" them the quality sucks, so I just watch them in their original size anyway on the PC. You're not really missing out on quality when you watch them on a DS.

I keep a few DPG-encoded movies and personal videos I took with my digital camera on my DS just to show the capabilities of a flashcart to people who don't know anything about them. I have "educated" about 20 friends and relatives and they all have DS's now

What converting software gives people the best results with viewing on M3 Sakura?
I use BatchDPG and it works great with sakura.
My settings for it are:

Video:
Framerate: 20 Width: 256 Bitrate: 386 Passes: 1
Profile: Med Height: 192 Max bitrate: 512 Resizer: Spline 16

Audio:
Bitrate: 128 Samplerate: 32768 Mode: Joint stereo

That works pretty well with sakura, and the audio is never out-of-sync.
Although I haven't tried it with videos longer than about half and hour....

I use:
23.976fps; Resolution 256x192 (256x144 for widescreen); bitrate/max 416/540; 2 pass; profile High; resizer Spline16;
audio 128 kpbs; frequency 32000; Joint-stereo; Normalize Enable; Keep aspect ratio Enable

Now, I watch every video on my DS. Youtubes, DVDs, Gamespot's On The Spot...

So far, I use DPGenc because I cannot replicate my setting and results (mainly speed) on batchDPG. I even convert videos on my school's computers; I have a Celeron at home and most of the computers over there are dual cores.

128kbps MP2
RBG24
(video dimensions: resizes to video)
256 kbps video bitrate
24 fps
110% video brightness
no blur
smooth frame blending
Low quality profile

On aside, I would thank any one of you greatly if you can tell me the corresponding settings for batchDPG.

I recoded all three seasons of Avatar for long car/train trips, absoulute LIFESAVER

as for what i use, i use DPGtools since it does batch conversion but i wonder if anyone knows any that can take advantage of milti-cpu computers, mines a quad but they recode faster on my (somewhat older) laptop
