Weird Download from GBATemp.net?!

I was starting up gbatemp.net using Google Chrome when the site apparently made me download something. I cancelled it before it fully uploaded. I looked at the downloads page when I saw that it was named "download" As far as I could see, it did not have a file extension. Weird.

Stuff like that happens from time to time, usually if the browser misreads some information, IIRC. I've had it happen before, usually on Windows Live sites; it's very likely harmless but it never hurts to run a virus scan if you're worried.

Thanks. One quick note. My avatar suddenly changed to GBATemp's mascot. I changed it back, but could this have something to do with the download? Or am I paranoid?

It's just a little one time error of an innocent little GBAtemp getting downloaded onto his computer and hacking his account. Nothing to worry about.

Yeah I've seen browsers try to download a file instead of opening it when the headers sent about it aren't correct (don't mark it as a supported format or literally mark it as a download and not an inclusion).
