You need a GC controller plugged in to install the mios patcher. I used v5 of the MIOS.
So what is it that the HBC doesn't like to make it go upside-down..? I know that it's IOS61 but what uses that..? I've installed cIOS38 rev 10 and NeoGamma. If I use Dop-IOS and get a 'clean' IOS61 will the cIOS and NeoGamma still work..?

IOS61 is used by the Shopping Channel and does not need to be trucha patched. HBC uses this IOS by default (at least on all of the consoles I have used) and I guess if it sees it is trucha patched it displays upside down. But, IOS61 is not installed by Waninkoko's app from what I saw. If you have a trucha patched IOS61, it was probably from cioscorp or some other package....or maybe you did it yourself with DOP-IOS.
Ah that explains it, it was indeed Waninkoko's 4.2 Updater. It installed the latest Shop Channel. Will have a look at sorting that out tomorrow cos it's nearly 4am now lol. Bloody Conduit keeping me up lolololol

I installed waninkoko updater 4.2 I made a folder in HBC and ran it from there but when it asks to select what IOS version to use I set it to IOS249 but it freezes up and I get nothing no lights on wiimote nothing hmmmm.... I installed HBC latest version through auto update and updated to 4.2 through nintendo now trying to get this to work not sure where I went wrong ....please help also thanks for eveything
Decided not to wait until morning and have just given it a go. Did the job great, but now my Trucha Signed discs won't work. So it's looking like I've got the choice of either an upside-down HBC or no Guitar Hero customs/uncut Manhunt 2. Bugger!

Did all the updates "thank you" did the IOS 30 1040, then I tried to install preloader and it installed but cannot read the SD card as in loader HBC or hacks.ini. I must of missed the part where preloader does not work? or did I mess up somewhere.
So per your instructions do I have to run indiana pwns or can I skip that part seeing that I have HBC on my wii under 4.2u all the emulators work but the usb loader GX doesn't if so no biggie I saw wal-mart had a few copies of it for cheap so if I must get that I will otherwise I will sell this wii buy a new one off the self and never update it to 4.2 using nintendos updater

I just wanted to say great job! Couple of small suggestions tho (should you decide to release an update)
1. Omit the install of the new MIOS (or at least make it optional in the installer). As you know, it overwrites your cMIOS install
2. Allow one sane IOS to be installed (IOS30 v1040 is a good choice with no fakesigning) as you know without it the hackmii installer refuses to function/install. Won't be good for future versions if people are not aware.
3. Turn off fakesigning of IOS61. It turns the HBC upside down
Not a big deal, as I stated in a previous post all are easily fixable using either your or Wiigator's cMIOS installer and using DOP-IOS to install IOS30 v1040 (over the stub) and IOS61 with no trucha signing.

EDIT: Ohh, lastly, maybe in a next release you can make it so that the downloaded files from Nintendo are retained on the SD card? This way we have offline install files on the SD after one online installationThat is of course if you are even planning one. Either way, thanks for coming back to the Wii scene to help us out

If the HBC is already on, you do not have to worry. But, when the next hackmii installer comes out (ie: v0.6), you are going to NEED the Indy exploit to install it (as bannerbomb no longer works *yet* on 4.2)

If you updated to 4.2, you probably don't show any hacks because you don't HAVE any hacks for 4.2 in your .ini file and maybe you can't load HBC. because it's trying to run HAXX but you installed the new one (JODI)

Can someone confirm PAL backups on DVD are still working on a hardmodded wii with WIIKEY 1 using the following upgrade:
1) Run Hackmii v0.5 and update Homebrew Channel, DVDx and BootMii.
2) Run Firmware Updater 4.2.
3) Feel happy to be pimpin' on 4.2 without issue.

So I got a new wii fresh off the shelf now I will try to hack the other wii someother day now with the new wii I installed the newest HBC did not install 4.2 from anywhere its still running version 4.0u but I still cant for the life of me get usb loader to work what it does is goes to black screen . any suggestions or did I screw this one up to by updating it to latest HBC ??
