Hacking vWii: Monster Hunter Tri (Wii Game) on USBLoaderGX Freezing & Buzzing

Hi, I have tried to boot this game on my vWii using USBLoaderGX and for some reason every time I press start on the main screen after the intro video to start the game, it freezes and I could hear a buzzing noise. Now, I know there are tonnes of outdated tutorials and fixes to get this working on a regular Wii as this game utilizes ios55 and vWii seems to have a higher version of this file, could this be the reason? Has anyone got this game to work on their vWii using USBLoaderGX? And if so, fill me in on your specs and configurations. (I know for sure I'm running out of ideas of tinkering with the USBGX configs.) And yes, if you're wondering, I have used more than one image file, (even a 1:1 copy) so it's not the iso/wbfs file of the game. That much I am certain.

I have even tried setting the game ios settings to 249 (Black Screen), 250 (Black Screen) and 251(Boots but freezes when starting game). Same thing happens with d2x-alt53 ios's.

Yea.. thanks for your input now I know it's just not me. I think this may be the only game to not work so far due to some reason I believe that really need the cios heremes (222,223) which is why it works only on the wii. But it would be awesome to find a work around.

I found another game that freezes...
Late during the intro, when the boy tries to chase his dad and he vanishes into the sky, it freezes of NiGHTS - Journey Into Dreams.
I ran the game through Wii Backup Manager did all hash checks and verifying. ISO seems to be legit.

Using USBLoaderGX r1268 (Latest).
Freezing still on both these games.

UPDATE: : The .ISO of NiGHTS was actually bad as MD5 checked out but not SHA.. So I ripped the disc again into ISO and copied it to the hard drive via WBM and now it's working as it should. Monster Hunter on the on the other hand checks out on both MD5 and SHA, but the game is still freezing as I said before.

Can anyone else can test Monster Hunter Tri on their Wii U via USB GX Loader and see if this also happens? This may help to find a solution of if it's just USB Loader GX that's having that issue... ?

don't use d2x v10-alt (r53), lot of games don't work with that beta version.
only go with d2x v10 r52, base56 or base57.

do you force any video mode?
Did you try another USBLoader?

Knowing that we have the d2x v10-alt (r53), how should we proceed to go with the d2x v10 r52, (base56 or base57)? I mean, in terms of step by step whether we have to uninstall something or beware with anything.

I hope using r52 will fix the issue because I don't have more idea.

you don't have to uninstall your current cIOS, just overwrite it by installing r52. you don't really need to keep r53 but if you want you can even install r52 in only one slot (not 3) and you can also install it in an empty slot instead of replacing r53.
but, that's just possibilities.

get d2x installer for vWii full pack
extract to SD card
be sure your don't block nintendo's URL (disable DNS or filters)
launch the installer from vWii HBC
select with dpad :

r52
Slot 249
base 56
version 21010

press A to install, verify you don't have any download or install error on screen.
when done, either you proceed to replace the slot250 too (slot251 is rarely used), or just exit to try the game with slot249

base56 should work fine with this game, you don't need base57

My final guess is, I believe this game really needs hermes cIOS but unfortunately this is the Wii U, and we don't have that cIOS for Wii U that is compatible. I never played that game with Hermes cIOS.
it works fine with d2x

I didn't test on vWii, only on Wii.
Maybe there's a difference?

There definitely is a difference. It worked on my Wii but not on my vWii on my Wii U. It could also be a combination that is conflicted within USBLoader GX. Who knows.. I even did try playing around with some of the settings within the loader but nothing helped either so I guess it's safe to say this game is broken on the vWii using USBLoader GX until there is a solution.

in another thread, on Wii (not vWii), someone had issue launching that game with USBLoaderGX. (not playing, just launching is not working)
but it works fine with wiiflow.

no idea if that game is special, but it's strange that two simultaneous report have been made for this game.

Hello guys! Maybe you can help me. wii games and gamecube freezing in my wiiu. Wiiu games play fine. Try wii injects and vwii hack, same problem. Reading you discussion i try install d2x v10 r52 (now i have 53) and get the issue Bad Hash. What can i do whith that? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I got a solution for you all, eve though I'm doing everything through my old Nintento wii (Not a WiiU). Here is what you should do on USB Loader GX:

Video Mode - Force NTSC
VIDTV - OFF
Ocarina - OFF
IOS - IOS 247 or 222
Error002fix - Yes or on
Patch Country strings - On
Alternate Dol - Default

This are the settings That I have, must important is the IOS which I used 222 at first and it freeze with a noise on a black screen, after I set it to 247 with the Country strings on it worked.

I hope that if anybody is having issues with it still or anybody who is still using a Wii and just downloaded the game, may this work, I spent a whole day trying to figure a solution.

Note:
I tried this on Wii flow and i was not able to put the IOS to 247, only 222; if 222 is what works for then perfect, but if not, try another app like USBloaderGX.

Neogama I couldn't figure out how to change the IOS, it was by default on 249. I was able to do everything else, except for that.
