I tried that new updated version, but it acutally runs far worse for me.
Sound is messed up and the game runs too slow

I'll second that. FPS in certain areas drops dramatically (e.g. Wario Land 4), and Super Mario Land for Gameboy hardly runs at all. I assume this applies to other games, too.

What about gba_bios.bin? Will that help?

I'm getting black and whiteness as well, is there no way to get it to display in 50Hz? I guess I can survive until I get a new TV, but it's kind of annoying seeing as I've been waiting for this. And does anyone get the issue where the names of the ROMs are stretched so far acroos the screen you can only see about half the text? Also, the small skips in the music got quite annoying, though I'm pleasantly surprised the creator actually managed to get the music to ouput at such a high quality.

lol, people were desperately waiting for front sd /wiimote support and when they have it, they start complaining for other stuff

do you FINALLY understand why releasing stable working stuff takes time and that there's no point in programming in a rush ??

Yes, mine is the same way. We need a simple GUI.

These aren't complaints, they're bugs. Besides, nobody forced emu_kidd to release an underdeveloped update. This thing has real problems.

Ok, I'm confused. I'm running the "original" version from yesterday. I would prefer to use frameskip. So should I download the new frameskip version?, because some people are saying it's worse.

It's worth a shot. The "frameskip" version seemed to run mostly at normal speed, with some slowdowns and errors.

@triften:
i was referring to people whining because VBA with front loading was not ready yet and that it took too much time: by rushing devs, you got what you deserve,

Hopefully someone uses the source to make this better. Add a gui and make games run more smoothly because as of now this runs like a very unrefined piece of junk not that I am not grateful for its existence.

Seems to run Sonic Advance 2 fine with the BIOS downloaded. So it's already worthy to me but ya. I wonder if FFTA works..

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
