Hacking Updated n00b guide to setting up your Acekard

Hello.

I just bought a DSI and order a acekard.

But only after i pay and read this test i realize that needs to be done an update.

My DSI is with 1.3E firmware, can i make the update on the acekard?

I'm asking this because i order to and the another is for a DSI with 1.4.1 firmware.

if the acekard has already got 1.4 on it it will work on both 1.3 and 1.4 no need to do anything if the card doesnt work on the 1.4 dsi then you need to upgarde software on acekard...

This seems like it would be an appropriate topic to post this question.

I have an R4 Ultra, which is considered to be an Acekard clone. After reading about how its possible for an Acekard to be bricked, and reading in other places how R4 Clones can be bricked or can brick the DS, I was wondering, is there any known danger of bricking with the R4 Ultra?

Hi,

I have a question/problem and I can't find the answer anywhere. Recently I bought a Acekard 2i (official) but I didn't know whether it was updated. So I took my old DS PHAT, inserted the Acekard and it worked! But I ordered this card for my girlfriend who has a DSi XL with firmware 1.4.1 E, so I flashed the acecard with the file ak2ifw_update_141_DSi.nds . Following the instructions and voila 100% and then I turned the power off. But now the problem arises. When I insert the Acekard in my DS PHAT again, it says that there is no card inserted???

Is this normal?

i got a question i got my Acekard from a friend who update it to
akaio 1.8.5 (don't know if this is useful information though)
but it was updated with your update file but i don't got a
DSi 1.4

now is my question:
is there a way to undo the update, i tried a few things but they won't work...
plz help i don't know what to do...

Even though the card was updated to 1.4, it will work on every DSi firmware 1.4 and below.

It will even work on DS lites and phats

just got my acekard works great on my ds lite,
but when i tried it on my phat ds it didn't load

it works perfectly on the ds lite without the need of the paper trick. Does this mean that i am going to need to use the paper trick to get it to work on my ds phat?

I just want to confirm something - I had a working AK2, no problems. One day I upgraded the system to 1.4.1 to download something from the store, and was unaware of updating the AK2 beforehand. For the situation I am in, is it pretty much impossible to get my AK2 working on my system again?

I do not have access to a nonupgraded DSI or anything like that.

Can I just buy another AK2 that would then work on my now updated system? If so, where is the best place to get a new one that is ready to run on 1.4.1? Thanks!

I talked to TK_Saturn a few weeks back, and it don't look like he'll be updating this guide
the same goes for his wood R4 guide

Hello, I just bought a new Acekard2i and put AKAIO 1.8.5 on it.
My DSi is currently on 1.4 and everything works, sav games are loading etc.

My question is this.
Can I simply update the fw on my DSi to 1.4.1 as Acekard2i is already showing "Alex Rider Stormbreaker THQ" icon OR do I need to patch the acekard2i again?

and will my sav games work after I upgrade my DSi to 1.4.1 fw.

This thread has just been hella wonderful. Thank you so much - I used this to set up my first AceKard 2i "D

But, earlier, after attempting to play a rom*, my Acekard will not be read by my DS. All my other games work fine though, but I still took the time to try and clean out the slot. I tried my Acekard with my friend's DS, and the same thing happened - it wasn't showing up. I tried to unbrick it but that was kind of pointless "/. Attempted papertrick as well and other than nearly getting the cartridge stuck, nothing new happened.

Does this mean I have to buy a new one ;A;

*I was attempting to try out Ninokuni Shikkoku no Madoushi, to see if I wanted to get my friend to buy me one in Japan.

I set up and formatted by Acekard as described but when I boot it it shows the error message "The skin Adb.EvoR can't be found. Adv.EvoR couldn't be found either. Please delte golabsettings.ini and restore Adv.EVoR theme."

I had Akaio 1.8.5. I don't have any themes or the file globalsettings.ini. I'm confused.

So I have a DSi and it has 1.4.1 on it. You said that I need to run the Alex Rider Stormbreaker in order to get it to work. When I put the Acekard in the DSi and turn it on, it shows the icon you pictured and also says Alex Rider Stormbreaker.

Does that mean that my card is ready to go or do I need to get a Lite and fix the card? When I hit start on the card like that, it says system file is missing.

it is updated, so you don't need to update it. about the 'system file missing' message, try to reinstall your firmware. are you trying to use any autoboot method like renaming the moonshl2.nds to akmenu4.nds?

hello I recently updated my akaio to *akaio 1.8.5 to play Yu-gi-oh over the nexus. It worked and allowed me to play the game but now I cant play my Pokemon games (black and white) with this update can I get some help here?
