Hello! I lent my old switch and cartridges to my brother while he's on vacation and I was wondering if it is possible to transfer the save files that are stored on my Nintendo account's cloud to my new switch that I just bought, even without the cartridges in hand (neither the official digital version). Has anyone ever tried that? I'm on the fence about subscribing for a month just to be able to transfer my saves over the internet. Thank you very much in advance.

You can transfer it but you need the source and target switch locally. Keep in mind if you don't transfer the whole profile and just the save for one game you lose the hours log in your activity when you just transfer the save instead of the whole profile. You could just use cloud save feature if the game support cloud.

Thank you to both of you. Ended up doing the transfer locally and it worked perfectly fine

Eventhough the New 3DS XL is more powerful, I still feel like the DS Lite was a more polished system. It's a real shame that it never got an XL variant keeping the GBA slot. You'd have to go on AliExpress and buy an ML shell to give a DS phat the unofficial "DS Lite" treatment, and that's the best we'll ever get I'm afraid.

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite
    for people with beefy hands.
