So far I haven't seen this discussed anywhere. Only now I realized that the BotW Link doesn't have a green tunic. The green tunic has been a tradition in the Zelda series. It has always been given to the hero who has the Triforce of Courage. I thought the blue clothes are just his usual clothes and he will receive the green tunic later, but so far we have seen lots of footage and he always was wearing his blue clothes. Prior to the release of all the other Zelda games, Link was always shown in his green tunic at one point.

So what does this actually mean? Is there any meaning behind this at all? Well, it's a stretch, but considering that the game plays in the demise of Hyrule timeline after Link was killed, what if the BotW Link is actually not Link? Not the descendant of the Hero of Time?

Or it could simply mean that he will get green clothes later in the game.

Dont believe he is ever a kid on this one.
He normally only wore green when he was a kid

I'll be disappointed if there's no classic clothes, though I feel like we wouldve seen him in them already. I think the "main clothes" will be the blue ones

Clothes are interchangeable in BotW, I've seen screenshots/video where Link has no shirt or pants on and is shivering. So you can actually make any clothes you find your "main clothes."

I know that. What I meant was like the overall best clothes will probably be the blue ones

the color doesn't reflect the defense level in most zelda?
you start with classic clothes, get the green tunic as part of age/test/history/etc.
then later in the game you get the blue or red tunic which provides better resistance.

having blue means it's already better than green ? ;)

you'll probably have to create different clothes with different colors and wear them like you want. they probably burn with fire and you'll have to get new ones.

Source or just a guess?
No source, Just I think I remember them taking about it. You have to find the master sword somewhere (though it's unneeded for the most part), and you scavenge your own clothes or can just wander around in your boxers, so having to find the legendary tunic is not that unreasonable.

The game is green enough- they probably made Link's "default" tunic blue to make him stand out this time.

Though it does irritate me that the Green Tunic is so infused with the legendary hero, and here we have the hero without the tunic.

Less than 3 weeks left now, can't wait to play the game.
Only thing that bugs me are the fact that weapons gets destroyed.

@Xdqwerty, Don't use games that have Easy Anti-Cheat as its been exploited many times.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

Either that or their old games were unfinished aswell but we can't notice it

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
