Hey there

I apolagize this is going to be extremly long winded, but I'm writing for two people (kinda) here. but anywho

I have been looking through the forums but am unsure if I can find a simple solution so I thought I'd ask.

Me and my friend are goin to purchase new flash kits (slot 1 and 2 devices basically)...however we both want them too do the same thing.

Which is play DS roms, GBA roms and emulate other consoles such as NES SNES etc.

So you're probably saying "whats these freakin noobs problem, surely they could work it out"...well one problem is one of us has the original a.k.a DS "Phat"

so are there any slot 2 devices that fit the DS? I only seem to be able to find DS lite.

Also my friend wants to basically make his DS lite into a massive multimedia system, I know that most slot-1 cards can already do that but which is the best for it?

We we're both thinkin of the CycloDS, but he keeps goin on about the R4 and the M3, and he's basically confused the heck out of me

and he's not making the choice for slot 2 devices easy for himself either....

(that is when I ro-sham-boed him..lol =P)

So could anyone give me any ideas at all....sorry its long winded this post, and everythin, just want to get him off my back, before I find he's become a monkey

thanks for any help

The R4 is definitely not a good choice, but the M3 Real is fine especially if he wants the multimedia features.
In fact, I would actually suggest a M3 because the Cyclo's slot 2 compatibility still has not been fixed yet.
I have no clue on what to get for a slot-2 for the DS phat.

Well after looking through flash card dealers for the UK.

I believe I may have solved the DS "phat" problem for SLOT-2

EZ 3-1 DS Original

The link there shows shop 01 media having the correct card.

But does the EZ 3-1 work with the M3? Sure I read somewhere you have to use there own slot-2 device now?

Awesome that pack appears to be just what I'm looking for =)

Few more things though, is the memory for the Opera's Browser on the M3 GBA Card?

And is the M3 slot-2 card better with the slot-1 M3 or is the ezflash 3-1 slot-2 a better option than the M3 slot-2.

(I only ask for compatability reasons, and what is recommended to be the best)

Also I watched the review videos on DealExtreme, there talking about what I'm guessing is the O.S for the M3: Sakura =S

Are there any other O.S for the M3, as on videos on youtube there seem to be many different ones?

Thanks guys for all your help..just these last things and I'll shut up and buy somet...lol XD

Personally i think the m3Real has the best GBA and multimedia support but because the M3 team made moonlight stop developing for the DS I hate all M3 products.

@Xdqwerty, People who create revival services for the Wii end up in disaster, same goes for Pretendo lol.

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

Remember when RiiShop was a thing?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    not really
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
