I don't know of a better place to post, I recently purchased a SuperCard DSTWO for my DS-XL, it should arrive in a couple of weeks, I already have an Acekard2i and it works just fine but I ordered this to get GBA support (I also have an EZ Flash 3in1 and it works great on my DS lite but I want to keep everything now on one DS and retire the other)... However, I do have a few questions...

-Are my DS saves compatible with SuperCard DSTWO or do I need to convert them?

-Can I still use my other emulators (Neo Geo, NES, Genesis,...etc) just fine?

-Are there any other emulators that benefit from this card, perhaps a Genesis emulator?

Don't get me wrong, I love JenesisDS but it's compatibility leaves a lot to be desired and I'm not very keen on the screen being bigger than the DS' also I don't like how it cannot read more than 250 Roms within one folder, I already have 3 folders full of Roms because of this.

I too wish there was a better Sega Genesis emulator. It was one of the reasons I was hoping DSi Mode on flash carts was successful enough to see it more often. Or ideally, something along the mix of a CycloDS iEvo with the improved hardware and guts of a Supercard DStwo(+).

jenesisDS seems to be it for Sega Genesis emulation on DS mode, though. And that's sad. Especially when the turbografx-16 emulator is damned near flawless in every game I cared enough to use such an emulator for.

There shouldn't be a need to convert save files for .nds games unless they were pre-patched to begin with.

The Neo Geo emulator is by far the most impressive DS emulator, nopt only does it surpass the poor Neo Geo emulator on Wii but even the superior one on Xbox, and it runs without anything extra other than a regular R4 type of flash card, sadly the same cannot be said about the Neo Geo Pocket, which is very poor in emulation.

I was talking about the .sav files not the .nds files, do I need to convert those to work with SuperCard DSTWO?

Edit: I just re-read your post and you already answered my question, I misunderstood that, sorry and thank you.

I never got a chance to try out the Neo Geo emulators on the DS, if only because I recall that when I last looked, they required the RAM cart that only came with the DS lite browser cart, or in some of those 3/5-in-1 flash cart combos for the DS lite system. So I more or less play the Neo Geo stuff on my PSP.

As for the second question, you shouldn't need to, unless something got corrupt along the way.

Oh, you should totally try the Neo Geo emulator on the DS, it's a lot better than the PSP one, I can hook you up if you're interested, seeing how finding and converting the right roms along with the required bios could be a pain but once all done you can play the entire library of games all the way to the console's late 2003 life.

JenesisDS had a short life because sega paid him for the emu and stop development it's the emu behind the sega gen collections on retail carts

I'm starting to notice a big issue with tempgba. Every so often the control gets slightly desynced. And I either lose control for a split second or the control is inputted twice.

This isn't that big of a deal in some games but in others like Megaman Battle Network. Which is so twitch heavy it makes Megaman suddenly slide along the playing area out of nowhere.

I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue and if there's a known fix for it.

Also the sound is occasionally garbled depending on game but I'm assuming that's not a fixable issue.

What is the key combo to go back to game selection screen while playing a gba game?
By default it's not bound in the menu. You have to go into the options and bind it

yall im torn... ive been hacking away at tales of phantasia GBA (the USA version) and have so many documents of reverse engineering i've done
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
Do I restart now using what i've learned on the EU version since it's a better overall experience? or do I continue with the US version since that is what ive been using, and if someone decides to play my hack, it would most likely be that version?
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one ;)
  • Sicklyboy @ Sicklyboy:
I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
    I appreciate the insight!
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
why the shit does the shitbox randomly insert newlines in my messages
  • Veho @ Veho:
It does that when I edit a post.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It inserts a newline in a random spot.

do y'all think having an sd card that has a write speed of 700kb/s is a bad idea?
trying to restore emunand rn but it's taking ages... (also when I finished the first time hekate decided to delete all my fucking files )
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@Karma177 that sd card is 100% faulty so yes, its a bad idea
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
even the slowest non-sdhc sd cards are a few MB/s
  • Karma177 @ Karma177:
@The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really think it's faulty (pasted 40/50gb+ folders and no write errors)
Karma177 @ Karma177: @The Real Jdbye it hasn't given me any error trying to write things on it so I don't really...
