2. Buying a new 2GB SD card is not worthy, comparing buying a 2048Mbit multi-rom bootleg. You can flash a custom menu to it , and it's faster than supercard
Any guide on that? I looked something like that up a few months ago but some forums stated it's super complicated since you have to point to the start of each rom in the hex code or something like that.

Also (sry if I just overlooked this), is your effort related in any way to this?

Archeychen and Lesserkuma have made menus which automatically search the cart for all the ROMs which have been flashed to it. You don't need to hex edit anything, the menu will automatically discover it.

https://github.com/lesserkuma/GBA_MultiMenu

The main inconveniences about this method are saving (there is only 64KB SRAM and batteryless saving is flaky) and having to use another device to flash the ROMs. You could use a DS with GBABF or a dedicated flasher like a GBxCartRW or Joey Jr.

Archeychen and I have been helping each other with both of these projects, he gets the credit for some important features like SDHC support :)

Nice, thanks for the response.
I have a GBxCart RW but only used it to flash single games over cheap reproduction carts from Ali to have some rom hacks / homebrews physically.
But getting a Supercard SD might be the better option anyway thanks to your work now. And I'm glad to hear that you get along well with each other. :)

Mine version is here:
https://github.com/ArcheyChen/GBAMultiCartMenuV2

The LesserKuma's version is to make multi gba games to a single rom then flash it, mine was to auto detect them, and you can flash it to the place you wanted.
I use gbabf https://gitlab.com/Fexean/gbabf in most of the time

The Supercard SD has have brake though now, like faster reading speed, SDHC support.
But I'm too busy these days, and might take a while to release my kenel, you can check Maniac's for now.

  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
basically whatever is closer to $200 and at least 8gb or better with stupid-fuck DLSS support since games now DEMAND it or won't run

sadly, i don't think you can find anything good for $200, unless you're REALLY lucky on ebay or fb marketplace
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    well, like 2070
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:

@UltraHurricane, See, I just need something for the next 2-3 years to pull solid 1080p for gaming, and by then 30 and 40 series will drop in price for a REAL upgrade

My buddy called me just to talk about his vasectomy lol
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
alt, being a desktop, i can always shove the "upgrade" in tandem too or something when that time comes
  • Skv0ra @ Skv0ra:
    @K3Nv3,
    sounds vascenating
  • UltraHurricane @ UltraHurricane:
@Skv0ra oh yeah, if you're ONLY running games at 1080p then it should definitely be enough
