How would I go about converting a 24-bit BMP to a 16-bit BMP?
The download link on the first post is dead and I can't find any other program to do it.

Also, a fair bit of these plugins have been disabled from Filetrip, so we can't even download them anymore.
That's extremely annoying, considering I've messed up all my plugin icons, and now I can't even re-download them anymore!

I'm looking for the nesDS and Lameboy ones in particular.
Not the alt ones, the original ones.
I'll be using the alt. ones until the original ones are uploaded again.

Cannonfoddr has an excellent plugin wiki page with current/good DL links, Pingouin7 =)

If ya wanna do some icons yerself, then i recommend using the free app, GIMP.
Heres info on how to use it to convert icons to 16bit (its the AKAIO wiki, but is still relevent).

Thanks a lot for that!
I had downloaded GIMP because I heard it would let me convert images to 16 bit BMP, but never was able to find out how to do so...

I wanted to remove the pale grey border on icons so that it would fit with the Fallout theme I had on my DS2.

Thanks, I might make a NESDS EX plugin now.

impossible, the plugin menu can only load homebrew or plg files.

And do you know the reason, why it doesn´t work?

Because loading homebrew uses dldi, while games don't, so if you try and load a normal ds game as a homebrew the dstwo will attempt to patch it with a dldi patch and subsequently fail.

Welcome back alidsl.... guess you've got your PC back now ???

FYI - first post needs a major overhaul - most (filetrip) plugins links are apparently 'dead' now, & there's a problem with your 'bbcode' (you've got things like .. but no , and a [/div] for some reason)

OK - I'll get back to Costello to see why he hasn't updated the post with my (hopefully) 'fixed' version of your first post (guess he's been a bit too busy

It has nothing at all to do with dldi. Commercial games are designed to run from a specific cart, if they are to be run by a flash cart, then they need to be heavily patched so that any reading and writing is redirected to different addresses. Homebrew loaders do not even attempt to do that as homebrew is designed to be run from flash carts so patching is not required.

Well - I asked nicely if Costello could modify the first post a couple of weeks ago, after explaining the situation with the OP's Computer access etc
There was a problem with the original bbcode so he couldn't do it & asked me to have a look & see if I can fix it

I believed I had solved it & passed on a fixed copy back to him to replace the first post - however I'm guessing he been too busy to get round to it ATM,
(I have PM'd asking if there was any more problems with it but got no reply... yet!!)
so I'm posting the fixed copy here (in quotes below) so that (I hope) Costello can replace the first post with it, & if not at least there's a duplicate post with 'fixed' plugin links

Oh and 'alidsl' - hope you don't mind... took a little liberty in re-wording a few things to (hopefully) make things clearer

Anyway - I hope Costello can replace the above with the first post .... fingers crossed

EDIT: Got rid of the fixed post now that the first one been updated

No Problems - wasn't sure how long it'll be until you were back up-&-running & got fed up of people saying 'first post links don't work'
