Starlink: Battle for Atlas to release on PC, Switch version to receive exclusive Star Fox DLC



Ubisoft is bringing their space-faring adventure game Starlink: Battle for Atlas to the PC this month, as announced by the company today. The game will also be getting a content updated titled Crimson Moon, which add new racing tracks and the Crimson Coliseum, where players can fight tons of enemies wave after wave. While all versions of the game on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch will get this update, the Switch will get its own exclusive bonus content. Peppy, Falco, and Slippy will be added to the game as playable characters, in a mission where they must fight against the Star Wolf team. The Crimson Moon update will be available on April 30th, alongside the the PC port. Meanwhile the Star Fox characters will launch the same day, as paid DLC which will cost $11.99.

Not possible due to the architectures between the Switch and x86 PC. And not to mention the .EXE file.

It dosent mean some crafty modders wont rip the assets from the switch version and mod it into the pc version. It will probably take years to complete assuming the pc version supports modding, longer if it dosen't.

Never underestimate the pc modding community they come out with some truly amazing stuff.

Yeah, you got a point. I've been active in the GTA modding community for 10 years and I get confused between the types of modders lol. Some are interested in the coding parts and others in 3D assets. But that's why I love the PC gaming, there is no limit, the only limit is the imaginations and or being creative. And of course: keyboard+mouse. I really really suck with controllers.

Serious question: Is this actually worth playing? I don't want to buy the toys... I never got into the whole toys to life fad. But I am mildly interested in the game.

Well, if you don't want to bother with the toys on console, you could always get the digital version. The digital and digital deluxe versions of the game give you ships, pilots and weapons, plus no matter what version you get, you can always buy new characters/ships/weapons digitally over the eshop/psn/Xbox store.

Also, if you want to play on pc, all of it's content will be digital only.

While playing the game, you can always swap characters by going into menu, and while it's not as fast as swapping something physically, it takes up no space.

Other than that, it's a pretty decent game. My only complaints are that after a while grinding can get annoying, and the worlds can get a bit boring in time as well, but everything else about the game is great.

(I bought the digital deluxe version for switch.)

it shouldn't even take years, months maybe if you get a determined modding team.
modders make full total conversion mods with new assets, audio etc. in years.
for this, they have assets as a starting point, audio, etc.
so really it comes down to putting it together and they will have non-exclusive DLC to compare file structures of to figure out those differences.

the problem I see is any modding team looking to do that would likely get a cease and desist just like other teams who used old assets like we've seen with skyrim and GTA mods in the past.
