Hawthorne rocket developer SpaceX landed a contract to shoot an Intelsat satellite into orbit with a Falcon Heavy rocket. Falcon Heavy will be the most powerful rocket since the Apollo-era Saturn V moon rocket.

Elon Musk said;
"The Falcon Heavy has more than twice the power of the next largest rocket in the world. With this new vehicle, SpaceX launch systems now cover the entire spectrum of the launch needs for commercial, civil and national security customers."

The SpaceX Falcon Heavy will launch an Intelsat payload into orbit around 2017 or 2018.

It's nice to see the private sector get more and more involved with space. I can't wait to see where this will go from here.
