SCEA CEO Jack Tretton acknowledges that lowest-priced system is not always the most successful, but believes consumers will gravitate toward PlayStation 4 value proposition.

Basically, the PS4 is $100 dollars below the Xbone, which is a reasonable price. And I actually agree with him. Jack Tretton also says that the gamers are "on his side", as well as devs and executes.

Well, yes, but Sony they perform and make better gaems on consoles like PS1,2,3,4, but not on handhelds, IMO.

It's not case of they can't, it's just that home consoles sell better so their priority(?) is lower for the handhelds and the games they make.

I'd say both the Xbox One's launch day lineup is better than PS4's, plus there's Kinect...

However, it's still £80/$100 dearer, which is still a big difference, and Kinect's a crock-o-shite (unless you're a Dance Central fan, which I would be too embarrassed to own up to - oh bugger...!)
The CoD/FIFA crowd will still flock to the One, and dlc first/exclusive FUT content will cement that deal, but yeah Sony's definitely coming out with both fists flying this time. Unlike when they launched the PS3...
Can see Sony retaking the top spot with the PS4 for sure, but One will still sell more than well enough for MS - probably be similar to the SNES vs Genesis sales war: close at first but instead of the SNES it's the PS4 that'll come out on top.

Anyway, it's not necessarily about being the cheapest, but about offering the best value... which the PS4 seems to provide. Despite being the weaker system, the Xbox One is $100 more expensive (on top of the Xbox Live subscription fee for online gaming and services like Netflix), and it doesn't look like the game library will be anywhere near strong enough to compensate for that.

I mean, the Xbox One is a much better value than it used to be, what with all the terrible "features" removed and whatnot, but it's still got a long ways to go.
