After yesterday's announcement, the Sonic The Hedgehog official YouTube channel uploaded a live stream to showcase upcoming projects and partnerships from SEGA.

Tune in for a sneak peek at some of our upcoming projects, partnerships, and events happening in 2022!

The live showcase has started! Let's begin with what the showcase is showing:

• Sonic Origins new trailer, showing gameplay. Classic, Anniversary, Boss rush modes, and more, available on June 23rd.
• Sonic Speed Simulator on Roblox on June 11th.
• New characters for Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces based on the Sonic 2 movie, as well as Super Shadow and Blaze.
• Sonic Prime short teaser, coming to Netflix. Shadow will be in the show.
• Sonic The Hedgehog 2 movie releasing on Blu-Ray and Digital, with a brand new short after the events of the movie.
• New Sonic G-Fuel, and artwork, music, figures, and candy dispensers will be available
• Sonic Symphony World Tour with dates being announced later.
• Fall Guys and Sonic collab, with new Sonic, Tails & Knuckles skins.
• Teaser for Sonic Frontiers' prologue, featuring Knuckles. Depicts events from before the game.
• Sonic Frontiers new gameplay footage.

If I'm being generous, Sonic has had about 10 good years of games, and 20 bad years. It's a real testament to how good those games were, that this brand is as huge as it is, despite SEGA trying to shoot themselves in the foot every step of the way.

People immediately attack anything Sonic to the slightest of things.
I see this as being no different from BotW and its huge portion of nothingness in the open spaces.
A small enemy camp here and there, and a shrine there, and calling Frontiers a tech demo just for that seems a little harsh.
I just hope the game does well in the end, Sonic deserves a really good true 3D outing already.

You mean Sonic needs consistent good 3D games. I'm that type of fan that sees some of these bad 3D games and is like "If they just went back and fix these games" but SEGA doesn't have the money to do it. Like there are people who are fixing Sonic 06 and making it better, why not do it for the rest of the games?

Yeah I agree.
They are really inconsistent all throughout, not just with the 3D games, the 2D ones as well.
Mania was the odd one out, before then the previous ones were mediocre as well, with S4 Episode 2 being kinda good, but still.

I'd also like to see 06 get a proper fix and re-release, just so people stop beating a dead horse already with it.
It had its flaws, but it was certainly a good premise and a fun game if you get by the hiccups.
