I just wanted to say thanks to Darth and others for all the effort. I actually played the game with the patch before reading up on it. I knew that the menus and items were translated, but when I started playing and got to the dialogue, I was saying, "WHAT?! Some of the script is translated too?!" That was pretty awesome. I can't seem to stop playing. I'm hoping that I get to try out multiplayer soon.

So yeah, your work is definitely much appreciated. Keep up the great work!

I'll most likely add a preview function to the program.
Still need to integrate it with SomaTrans, but it didn't take as long to create as I anticipated.

Are you translating the story text aswell? or just menus and skills etc? If story aswell then whoa! O.O

Tried this game, with an early translation, i liked what i saw, the game is great! Looking forward to try this out, now when it seems to be translated alot more! Thanks for doing a great job guys.

Act 1 will be done in the next few days, and LostTemplar has been making excellent progress through Act 2. I'm going to try and get caught up with as many of those as I can over the weekend.

Save files are not impacted by the patch and can be reused with any version.

I just wondered about the names of the three who are with Adonis, フェデルタ (federuta), グード (guudo) and アンビシオン (anbishion)。

アンビシオン likely is French "ambition"
フェデルタ likely is Italian "fedeltà" (meaning exactness, accuracy, precision)

But I just can't figure out グード. If the other two are French and Italian it might be Spanish.
Somewhere in the wiki it's translated as "Guud", but I don't think that's correct.

- Goode, surname?
- Goude, Indian backward caste?
- Gude, Scottish for "good" or "god"?
- Gude, German greeting?
- Gude, Portuguese for "marble"?

Well, it seems it's "Goode", the surname. I found some Japanese magazine scans with romanizations

Haha, sweet, that's what I've been using. I'll have to change Ambicion, though.

Shouldn't the last two names be:-

Ambition and Gud

Like I mentioned way back in the beginning, when I explained that I had seen the names on the rom and not translated them.

No. Filenames are rough romanizations never meant to be seen by the user. There's no implication that they are the character's proper name, especially when they're contradicted by official promo material.

For instance, in From the Abyss, one of the dialogue folders is /deigy/, but the character's name is Daisy.

Here are all the NPC names for Schildkröte:

クレーエ : Krähe (crow)
アードラ : Adler (eagle)
カッツエ : Katze (cat)
エーゼル: Esel (donkey)
アッフェ: Affe (monkey)
ファルケ: Falke (falcon)
レーヴェ: Löwe (lion)
Hirsch is already translated.

Some of the dialogues still need to be written out to make use of the new space, but all Act 1 cutscenes are now in English!

Awesome, that's a big help!

Edit: I ended up not getting to any of the Act 2 stuff over the weekend, but I did translate a bunch of the Act 1 NPC dialogue.
