So, other than testing if the forwarder works, is there any new or not known info that you really need? Send me the installer plus all the files configured that you want to know if they work, to drop them in the SD.
i will send them in a PM (not here publicly because of GBAtemp's rules).

What I can't quite understand is what do you want to test that isn't known already, other than if the forwarder works or not.

Wii U's vWii is just like the original Wii console: same limitations, same speed. All FX games are playable, some with some mild frame skipping, which is handled very well by the emulator, specially if you add some "FX overclock". I'm a super Star Fox fan and have played it to death on every single console that can be emulated, just for fun, to check how tolerable the experience is.

Wii U's vWii "overclocking" is just a "Wii" with the full Wii U CPU speed. Everyone using it already knows it gives more room for emulators to reach full speed on heavy games. In this case I purposefully added new FX speed options (which you should know as you already copy-pasted those into Snes9x GX's commits) because the Wii U can handle it without problems. Doom is specially benefited from this, giving it a much fluid experience, not accurate to the original of course since you're altering the game, but a new way to play it indeed. Those were personally tested before I even committed the changes to my GitHub.

Hi niuus, I'm going to finalize my beta for tonight in which I created the option to overclock the CPU (3 levels of setting).

I have prepared the necessary files for RX, normally it's ok, but as I don't have anything to compile RX you have to test it ^^

I tested with Castlevania 4 (the cylinder in level 4), Contra III, Gradius III, Super Ghouls N Ghost, etc... The results are edifying, no more slowdown !

Man! You're on fire! This should be superb on the Wii port, as it was on PC. Right now i'm making some updates and quality testing to WiiSXRX for 2.7, but i'm definitely gonna check this today.

Done with the integration. I'm having a blast using the feature. :D

Games that immediately came to my mind for the feature and already tested:

- Axelay
- BioMetal
- Demolition Man
- Flashback
(the intro is an easy spot, and all cutscenes)
- Jungle Strike
- Mega Man X
(Armored Armadillo stage, the mine cart sections and machine chase sequences)
- NCAA Basketball
- Out of this World
- R-Type III
- Skulljagger - Revolt of the Westicans
- Super Back to the Future Part II
- Super Mario World
(the ending transition of any standard level)
- Super R-Type

Thank you for the game list.

I know Contra III & Gradius III both play great with the overclock rom patches.

I am curious to which other games will really benefit from this feature. If anyone could add to this list of games of known slowdown, it would be greatly appreciated.

Super Ghouls is a favorite of mine and i expect the slowdown which could be an issue for me using this feature on that game:).

Super Ghouls n Ghosts had a patch that adds some gameplay changes and remove slowdown.

Demon's Crest also had a patch that among other things tried to lower slowdown by removing some effects.

Games such as both Super Bonk, specially the first, do suffer from slowdown.

Mega Man X 1 also has notorious slowdown but it has a SA-1 patch... But MMX2 does not, and also suffers from it.

It's easy to find games with slowdown looking at early third party releases when devs were still learning... or when companies cheaped out with Slowrom carts.

@Maeson

With Super Ghouls, i have used the overclock patch for this game and it took away from the experience imo. The uncensored hard patch is how i play this game with original slowdown.

There are so many original NES games where the slowdown IS part of the experience, and patching would eliminate the charm. Almost like the developers meant to add the slowdown, if you get my thought process, (I know this was because of limitations of hardware) and it just feels and plays right imo.

I know the same can be said for purist, pertaining to SNES games with slowdown, but a collaborated list would be well used.

I personally don't find slowdown part of any charm (unless it's like I don't know, a turn-based rpg during animations for big attacks where I can go "aww, it's trying to do so much!" sort of thing) and in fact takes away from the fun significantly, as it not only takes away the feeling of control from me but also makes the experience choppier, although slowdown is better than frame drops of more modern systems any day.

But I can understand that with specific games, such as shoot'em ups, the slowdown might make easier in parts where are many enemies shooting at the same time and some times the devs bank on the slowdown to help them on those choke points.

The good thing about emulation and rom hacking is that you can play however you want and let others do the same. Some people want the slowdown and "crt experience" in an attempt to feel like the old days and others seek better performance or sharper picture even if it's not how it played back then.

It's like people trying to fix glitches or improve elements of games, I will always find them of great value too. One can always go back to the "original" if they want to, so I don't see any negative.

We could do a list of games that suffer signifcantly from slowdown. Heck, we could even point to patches that improve performance too.

New release is up! (5.2.0)

[5.2.0 - June 18, 2022]
* SNES CPU overclock setting exposed (thanks Tanooki16!)
Inside the "Video" section, you can now choose three settings to overclock
the virtual SNES CPU, to improve or smooth the framerate in games that
originally struggled (i.e.: cutscenes in Flashback). It may also change the
flow of the game entirely (i.e.: Skulljagger - Revolt of the Westicans).
Experiment with the setting on your favorite games or other uncommon titles
in your library.
* Updates for the Spanish language.
* Other tweaks.

Thank you so much!!! Would it be able to be with the SNES Classic EU theme as well if possible?
Done @RosalinaSama. Available here,

Just tested with other games, I got amazed by the track smoothness in the Top Gear series. Funny enough, if you start TG2 with OC already activated, it will trigger a PAL screen warning. Just set it once inside the game and it will be fine, same trick with TG3K, or it won't even boot. :D

Don't even think about using the SNES OC on Super FX / SA-1 games with Medium or Max setting on the Wii console, or it will run like it's gonna explode in seconds and eventually crash, lol. Be warned.
