'Resident Evil: Dark Side Chronicles' New Trailer
Promises "next-gen graphics" on Wii


Here's a new trailer for the upcoming Wii on-rails shooter, "Resident Evil: The Dark Side Chronicles". The game will cover events from Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica.

Here is an interesting quote from one of the developers, Kentaro Noguchi.

One of the things we thought we needed to achieve was a near-360 level of graphics. By adding in technology like HDR, global illumination, shadow/lighting and some filters, we feel that we were able to achieve some graphics that are the best you will see on the Wii.

Some of the key features of the game are:

• Horror aspect recreated by not letting the player control camera movements ("on rails"). This was added because the zombies are "slow and stupid" and controlling the camera would give the players too much of an advantage.
• Can play as Claire, Leon, or both in a 2-player game.
• Game will "rely on a more realistic script".
• The atmosphere has been enhanced dramatically. (smoke effects, blood splatters on screen, enhanced lighting)

in a couple of levels i came across a bit, in the labs underneath the mansion when there is alot of smoke and stuff around and yeah...

I don't get why they didn't add all this technology to chronicles and their other games... All the sudden they decide to try.

It's probably gonna be another frustrating game like chronicles. Bah, don't want a rails shooter again
