I don't have a lot of experience in IRC networks, or how people use them.
But i think i got one setup as it should be.

I assure you that you have no idea what you're doing and that you shouldn't be messing with IRCds if you have no idea what you're doing. May I recommend you just use Rizon or Freenode or some other existing network?

Gotta start somewhere? I personally like the idea of setting up an IRC server from scratch, that way you can create your own rules and not have to follow whatever others dictate as allowable/disallowable on their network.

You may but i won't ;)

I'm going to research some more, and test it on a private server at home.
People will have to wait for this IRC server.
But in while i'll put this back online.

On the flip side, using an existing network has the added benefit of not forcing users to connect to yet another server. If all the channels I already hang out in are on freenode, it's much less annoying to join an additional channel and not have to worry about maintaining a username across multiple networks.

I'm not sure what irc client you're using, but in any of the reasonably good ones, it's simply another tab or another tree branch on a side pane. I don't really see this as a huge inconvenience.

EDIT: Also, if you're NOT using whatever previously existing network, it's a moot point anyways.

Not only that, but that means there's an existing redundant infrastructure instead of a single server to fail to knock everyone offline.

Can't tell how much i like this satiric pics.
So, lol.
Also, i like idea of a more free chat server, but let's avoid to make it filled with trolls.

I guess legit reasons of bans would help there :P

rxTools only has rop chain for 4.x systems so for now you won't be able to boot rxTools from 9.x sysnand with MSET. But I'm sure it might add that in the future though. For the o3DS there isn't anything using MSET on 9.x yet and only Gateway has made use of it on n3DS.

So doing anything at this point would be a waste f time?

But it was up?

Yes, and basically there were no restrictions, just guidelines, but i had to take it down for security reasons.
When i put it back online, i will still hope that people are mature enough to follow these guidelines, but there will a few basic restrictions

The phat model had amazingly loud speakers tho.

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

    but that's a long shot

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
