    Hey there @Uwabami, I may or may not be able to help you guys with certain small modifications like text lengths limited by the code.

    What I can do better is provide you guys with a control code handler and previewer using the tool I've been writing Kuriimu.

    What format is the game using for storing the text?
    What format is the font that you decided to pull from Dual Destinies? (I can currently convert BFFNT to a bitmap and use it in the preview generation.)

    I've been working on this tool for a while already and it's nearing a full 1.0.0 release.

    I'd rather to have japanese voices, things should be enjoyed in their original language audio-wise.

    No. If it's intended for an English-speaking audience, it needs to be in the language the audience understands. That's the entire point of localization.

    Unfortunately, I will be avoiding and recommending against this. The decision not to localize to the same level as the official releases is the main issue, as it removes the bulk of the wordplay-based humor.

    It _is_ localized. We just didn't change names or places. Maybe you should try it before you hate on it?

    i just wanted to thank all the team if that worked on this project so far. i finished the small demo but it made me so excited this new year ever celebrating it alone this was the best gift ever. Good Job. i'm more hyped for the episode 1 ! Good Job again :)

    Translation ALWAYS means localization. You can never have a 1:1 translation, because of the many differences between languages. For example, translating the french expression "casser du sucre sur le dos de quelqu’un" (breaking sugar on someone's back) directly in english is a bad idea, since the english-speaking audience wouldn't understand its meaning (which is "to talk behind the back"). And that applies to all idiomatic expressions, proverbs, puns, etc. that cannot be translated or have to be translated with an equivalent expression in that particular language.

    So the "wordplay-based humor" remains intact, even if the team is not americanizing the game.

    Keep it up the good work. I can't wait to see this completed.


    Also I completely agree on leaving the original Japanese names. After all you can't have american names from some people coming from the Meiji Era of Japan!

    About the voice acting, I'd say just leave it in Japanese. I think that the game is already well voice acted and adds a nice tone for the immersion.
