According to a recent Variety report, Netflix is working on a live-action Pokémon series. Variety's sources say that this new series will be similar to the Detective Pikachu live-action movie. Not much details are available about the plot since the project is said to be in its early days. However, the report mentions that the co-showrunner and executive producer on the Netflix series Lucifer, Joe Henderson, will be the writer and executive producer for the show.

However, Variety does not name its sources, so take this news with a grain of salt.

"Great", really? I mean, don't get me wrong, it was better than expected, but aside from its high production value and a ton of fun easter eggs it was no more than average. Granted, that does make it one of the "A" tier videogame movies, but that's no reason to over inflate opinion and make the production companies think that they did good... that's what leads to really terrible streaming series and worse movies.
