After I patched the 3rd gen starters as the Instruction,the game can not be run(Freeze before enter the game).

Does anyone hve the same problem?

The patches don't seem to work with DS_Rom_Patcher for mac.
Are these xdelta patches or really only compatible with nitro?They are narc files so you can use other programs like NARC Explorer.
Or else you can try the xdelta patch(in the "Pack" folder) with DS rom patcher.

One last question for the maker.

How is the Zorua/ Zoroak hack done? Does it simply alter the sprites/stats/type of togepi or is the pokemon in the egg unique. Basically I want to know whether I can alter its stats with pokesav or add another one by adding a togepi to my party.It simply replaces the sprites/stats/type of Togepi/Togetic so you can use Pokesav to add/modify Togepi if you want.

I marked every tools I use in the readme.
But to change the stats and sprites, I only used PPRE and PokeDS/Pic.

You used a clean Heart Gold US rom ?

It's awesome (I love the evolution mod)

but main thing is still can't get Magnezone or Mamoswine etc. w/out hacks

EDIT: sorry just had my evolution mixed up

You can get them.
For Magnezone, you just need to level up Magneton to lvl.42
and for Mamoswine, it's still the normal evolution (Piloswine with Ancient Power).

The only ones you can't have for now are :
Regis, Deoxys, Rotom, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Heatran, Cresselia, Phione, Manaphy and Darkrai

Except Ancient power is not something Piloswine learns naturally, I think you have to Tutor it?

Yes, that's it. He can learn Ancient Power with the Move Tutor in Battle Frontier or even by breeding

this has probably been answered many times, but which programs did you use for making those modifications?

I've been looking all over for hacking tools that work on HGSS but haven't got any luck.

Can you pass me the link of said tools? I just want to get rid of trade evolutions and improve a little the movepool and/or base stats of some pokemon.

ps: I usually use PokeSav for the movepool editing and for evolving pokes w/o trading, but that means I'm stuck with the crappy stats of some pokemon I love, like Swellow, Venomoth and Medicham

yeah i been hoping for years they would nerf some of the original kanto pokemon. It's pathetic how weak they made them in comparison with the new ones. Charizard and Blastoise need to be viable again.

Yeah, i made my Riolu an epic battler hes got 190 Att 180 Spec-Att 188 Speed at level 50, to balance it i gave him low defence and Spec defence.

You have you use a DP program to edit the stats then reinsert the file you editted back into the rom.

yeah, I finally managed to do that. So far I'm able to change the ability, type and Base Stat, but not the movepool, which is kinda sad.

Also, I wasn't able to change the moves. I can "see" them, but don't know which file to overwrite on the original rom.


For those who haven't managed to edit, I did it this way:
1-Open a diamond rom with PokeEdit DS, change the pokes I want and then save.
2-Open the diamond rom with NitroExplorer2b and extract personal.narc from one of the folders.
3-Open the HG/SS rom and reinsert the personal.narc file into the file a\2.

what kept me from changing movepool and the moves is that I dont know which file to extract in step 2 and which file to overwrite in step 3.
Does anyone knows this?
