I'm starting to make my own homebrew project...
And I'm planning to make an update to the DS Opera Browser (It will be bigger in filesize, but I hope to add advanced java and some other things in)

Then I'll helpm out with coding here.

I just started my first homebrew project.
It's a pokédex, so you can browse all your favorite pokémon on your DS!
And because that's quite ueseless (but fun for children), it will probable going to have "where to catch in which game" things and stuff like that.

7september, what is the Pokédex capable of now?

• First 9 Pokémon are viewable.
• Scroll through them using buttons, or touchscreen.
• Different descriptions for different regions.
• Switch through the regions using buttons on the touchscreen.
• Description, name, number, and type is shown for every pokémon.
• A main menu, however, due a bug, you can't go back from the dex to the menu.
• Credits, not complete yet though.
• SKINABLE! Well, not exactly, atm there are only 2 skins, the default one made by me, and the default one, in another color, also made by me

But, it's just a dex.
"My" dex, has info on where to catch the pokemon and stuff...

But atm, it's just a little on hold.
(however, I think I'm going to out some work in it again, maybe tonight, or maybe tommorow.. I dunno yet, whenever I feel like it.)

Hey, n00b. Go Away, we all have to learn coding (you obviously don't)
We already know about DexterDS, and have done since THE FIRST RELEASE! (i.e. 3 months ago)
In fact, we came first.. you could argue that it rivals us!
DexterDS is good, but cheats a little because the entire package is 906( 3x2x151) bmp's with touchscreen control.
PokeDexDS calls the individual info files (making it customisable 100%) and can also use skins (Enjoy recoding all 906 DexterDS files!)
You probably own an R4, and think your so great... So, I'd recomend you go hang out with Rune (he also rips off coding and terrorises people's work)


Back on task...

I just realised, that using the opera browser, you could re-encode whole sites, so you don't have to use the internet to view them.
So, we could code a basic web browser for the project, make a call function from the title screen, and then finally make it display special pages. (some format could be established, like a CSS page, and every pokemon's individual data inside its own directory. Anyone could then make a new set of data externally, and you could even implement the database viewing system into say, the acekard firmware (cause its open source)

So how are you coding this? My guess is your using different rooms, but it could be done other ways. I have seen some good menu ideas on palib.info.

I really like this project, I was going to do one similar but seeing as there are already two out their, I thought why have another? So I quit and killed the project. One thing that i think needs work is the graphics. It would be nicer if there were a bit more... well I think you know what a mean. The ones in use now get the job done, but they are just a bit shoddy. If I could help out in anyway just ask me.

Sorry it was very unspecific... what I meant was different functions acting as a different room with a different background. So you declare the different functions and when you press a sprite, it will take you too the relevant function (or as I said earlier "room"). It would be kind of like that ralphi2 guys dsmenu maker (you probably haven't heard about that old help me app project). Sorry if I explained that rubbish; if you don't understand what I mean now, just forget it it is not really relevant.

-all 493 pokemon
-their infos
-what level and how will they evolve
-where can they be caught or get(all regions)
-search panel(search pokemon by number or name)
