Major consumer electronics company to tease new gaming-related product tonight
Whatever it is will be apparently revealed later tonight on MTV.
Ok, well this is a pretty vague news article, but it'll have to do for now.
We have just received word that a major consumer electronics company will be revealing/teasing something gaming related later today (yeah yeah, an announcement of an announcement). The company and product can't be revealed until later, though both will likely be a bit of a surprise.

The tease will apparently happen later tonight on the MTV show Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory that will air tonight at 9:30PM ET/6:30PM PT. Not the typical place you would see a videogame announcement, but that's where it will be happening.

And that's all we can say for now.

Any guesses? By the way I didn't add any pictures since I can't really think of a suitable one.

EDIT: It's Jungle, Panasonic's new MMO platform

Small screen and linux? i bet their aiming for casuals as well, for their farmvilles and whatnots.
If it was aimed towards casual gamers, it wouldn't operate on Linux.

On-Topic: I think it looks neat. Small, but that's what makes it look cool.
I can't see this small screen working out with one of those Hardcore WoW gamers

Panasonic hired Rob Dyrdek to do the jingle for their product? If you go to their product website thejungleDOTcom the youtube video starts out with the words "Welcome to the jungle". Didn't GnR already write them a perfect jingle???

"Welcome to the jungle...we got fun and games...we got everything you want"

IMO console has no chance.

android is aimed at casual users, based on linux, and doing great.
and from the looks of it it's supposed to be running games optimized for the device.

Small, powerful machine with (presumably) good connectivity, good graphics, a gamepad and a keyboard? Yeah, I want one. I'm a sucker for micro-sub-netbook computer thingies

So a mini netbook? lol..

that sort of kills the whole idea of the netbook in the first place; but yeah lol.

whatever it is, if the price is reasonable it may just sell kind of well.

kind of fugly as well ... very fugly to be exact.

exactly! that's my point, it wont be powerfull enough to use a "decent" mmorpg, namelly any big name MMORPG nowadays.

It might run browser stuff basically. "Here have a port of Ubuntu with firefox + flash, go play farmville, oh wait and please pay us (i'll bet no less than) 400$ and another monthly fee for the 3G".

meeeeeeeeeh, i really like panasonic, but they tend to over price their products, i doubt this will be any different (remember the GameCube with a dvd player? yeah.... PRICEY!)
